Can i backup my blu-ray even if the pc can`t playback the copy?

Even if my pc is not strong enough for playback of blu-ray backups. (folder backup) Can i still use it for ripping blu-ray`s?

I`m buying a new pc, but have a laptop that i think will play blu-ray backups.
But since i have bought the BD-ROM i would like to try it out.

Rip it on one computer then playback on another.

You should be able to but it may be slow.
