So will this allow us to "convert" a blu-ray movie into a "DVD" movie so that it can be played back on a regular DVD player?

as of 6.1.0.2 beta, NO

this will compress the BD to fit on a DVD9 or DVD5 for playback on a blu-ray player.

Oh, I meant the upcoming Blu-ray to Mobile feature.

Since it will convert blu-ray to WMV, etc., will we be able to burn the WMV to a DVD disc and playback via DVD player?
