Audio Delay problems when compressing

This is more to the users and less to support team. I have been a DVDFab customer years. I go back before DVD Decrypt Platinum. I have always had great luck with these products.

I recently purchased a DVD reader and purchased Blu Ray to Blu Ray and File to Mobile upgrades. Mainly to be able to convert Blu Ray to run on my PS3 from my network disks, but also liked the idea of BD9. (blu ray media is too expensive). Went out and purchased a 2 Terabyte drive to store the files.

However, I am having absolutely no success compressing anything once ripped. I am getting successful rips that will play on my PC when mounted via PhantomDrive. But when creating a BD9, I have only been successful on 1 out of 12 discs. All generate a file, but 11 have audio delay that starts out fine but by the end of the disc, the audio has a delay of about 15 seconds or more. I get the same problem with I use File to Mobile to convert the primary M2TS file to say MP4. The only disc I have been successful with is "A Knights Tale". Right now I am trying to get "Mama Mia" to compress and have spent days trying numerous options but each time, there is an audio delay that starts out in sync but gets to about 20 seconds by the end of the file. This is the same with a few other apps as well.

So my question is, is this something to expect with Blu Ray?

My understanding is that the sync issues introduced in recent versions are top-of-the-list to be fixed once the Chinese New Year is over. For now you may want to avoid BD9 and MP4 conversions until there is a new version and you have verified that it fixed the issue on a previously problematic movie. Sorry, I don't have an ETA.

Wish support would have told me that. I have spent hour after hour trying everything I can to correct the problem. They told me it was probably the disc.

I think the issue is caused by a missing parameter in the convertedm2ts file. I am getting messages from my PS3 that all the files I rip with the new 6.2.2.0 are corrupt. When I try to use say tsMuxeR to create attempt to create a compatible file, I get the message:
"VC-1 stream does not contain fps field. Muxing fps=23.976"

Most of my apps that convert video report back that the m2ts files are corrupt. I think this parameter in the video streams may be the problem.

I am guessing that this may be the cause of the problem. With the missing parameter, audio may be encoding at a different frame rate than video. I think I am going to go back to an older version and see if at least the m2ts files don't show as corrupt with most applications.

I have found what the problem with the audio delay is...

The mt2s files are showing a frame rate of 23.976 per second. When you use the english audio tracks and the 23.976 frame rate the audio delay slowly grows as you get deeper into the file.

I did some conversion of these files using a separate app and selected 30fps instead of the 23.976 and the converted files have no delay. If I use the reported 23.976 as reported in the file, then the delay is there in the coverted file with the other app. The problem with converting to 30fps on the video is the video is a bit choppy due to the inserted additional video frames.


It appears the English audio is at 30 fps rate where the video is reported at 23.976.

Update:

Tried using File to Mobile using 30fps and the audio was out of sync right away. The issue is something in DVDFab. I was able to successfully convert to mp4 with other software. It's just takes about twice as long as the other software does not support GPU acceleration.

Thanks for the heads up, jimhanseng . I just recently purchased Life time Blue Ray to Blue Ray and had planned on backing up using BD9 too.
