prob: from V6 to V7, what changed?

Hello! Going from version 6 to version 7 (beta) produces disks that are not playable anymore in my Samsung bdp1600.

The Samsung player reports "unable to play the disk" or something similar (while in the loading process, just before playing the movie).

Everything was fine for me with Version 6.

What changed?

I have a lifetime bluray to bluray membership, so I hope I can figure this out! Thanks!

just backup the dark knight v7.0.2.1 movie only to HD then compress to
BD25. imgb to BD25 and plays on my sony standalone player,PC and PS3.
all good here.

Hi everyone says to use img.burn as the burner,but i think if you spend all that money on a program the whole program should work not half of it.
That is just my opinion.

ImgBurn -- is a freeware program -- so this will not cost you anymore.

May mean you need to change a few settings on DVDFab but these are well documented on these forumns.

IMHO ImgBurn is an excellent piece of sofware and I moved from using the VSO engine (built into DVDFab) to ImgBurn about 12months ago and never looked back.

I'm not say VSO is bad, for me it worked 95% of the time but I was getting a bit frustrated with the 5% so moved away from using this. Todate I've had 100% sucess with ImgBurn

Hello. I always use IMGBURN to burn my blu-ray disks. I should have mentioned that.

Follow up. I made another coaster with the latest beta version (DVDFab7021Beta). Here is the breakdown for all the main movies I tried:

Sin City: Recut (DTS-HD Master 5.1) (re-compressed to BD-25)
9 (Title 0, DTS-HD Master 5.1) (no compression needed)
300 (AC-3 TrueHD 5.1) (no compression needed)

DVDFab Blu ray reports all successful, but my standalone player (Samsung bdp1600) rejects the disk while loading.

Note that I use IMGBURN to burn the disks (with UDF 2.50).

DVDFab Version 6 produces disks that work just fine.

What's going on? Tired of making coasters, I am $10 in!

I hope this can help somebody.

PS: I am not alone, just got a PM from somebody with the same problem.

Just tried upgrading Samsung player firmware to current/latest version 2.05 and still no luck.

Just reinstalled dvdfab version DVDFab6218 and made a good copy of 300 that plays fine in the Samsung player.

Hello Ting!

I am NOT SURE if they play on the PC. I do not have a blu-ray playing software on my PC.

I know for sure that the copies I make with version 6 play on stand-alone players and PS3 consoles. I have test that.

I will soon be able to test if the 3 movies I have backed up with version 7 can play on PS3.

I have do one test, the sample movie can be played in PS3 and Panasonic player, and just cannot be played in Samsung player.

I will check this problem, hope can fix it soon.

I too am having problems with all versions of DVDfab 7. It will not recognize my source DVD player. So I am unable to backup on a two drive system.

I have no problems with version 6.

Anyone have a suggestion?

hpiii, what is your stand-alone player's brand and model?

EDIT: Wait. You are saying that you have 2 optical drives in your computer, and therefore cannot use dvdfab 7 ? If so, that is weird. My computer has 3 optical drives and it works just fine (1 USB, 1 eSata and one internal SATA).
