Mad Men Blu-ray - Please Update

I'm trying to back up my copy of Mad Men Season 3 on BD. As soon as the application begins to read the disk it stops and I get a dialog box saying "To open this Blu-ray disk, please update DVDFab software". But, I'm using Beta 7.0.2.6 which I understand to be the latest version. What gives?

Maybe the English is incorrect. Has your free trial expired?

It has been more than thirty days since my first install of DVDFab, but under blu-ray to blu-ray in the about screen it says "Never Be Used". Apparently the trial period restarts when you uninstall and reinstall?
Either way, I'm only trying to rip to the hard drive at this point, which should always be free, right?

Not sure if it applies, but the free version does have some limitations:

Also, make sure you have an active Internet connection and your firewall is allowing DVDFab outside access which is required by the Blu-Ray module.

So you're thinking the copy protection scheme needed to rip mad men hasn't been updated in the free version? Alrighty.

I'll double check my firewall, thanks.

Also when you uninstall and then reinstall it does not give you another 30 day free trial

Yeah, that's what I figured even though the 'about' screen doesn't really reflect the correct information.

So, I'm confused about how this works. How will I know when the free version receives an update since it is integrated with the full version?

It seems like it would be a better idea to have DVDFab HD Decrypter be an entirely separate application.

the release notes for each version released will say if an update to handle copy protection has been added to the free version. If nothing is mentioned then it not added but at the moment DVDFab 7 is updated for both paid and free until it is released officially. The copy protection is the only thing that lags for updates in the free version as all bugs get fixed since the paid version is the same but with out restrictions

                  Ah, got it.

Ok then, back to original question, so the fact that its telling me to update to the latest version when I'm already running it must just be a beta bug relating to the handling of the copy protection on this particular disk?

not sure as I not use the free version or even use Blu-ray so not able to comment on this. Maybe someone else who does use the free version and Blu-ray will be able to answer for you

Well, you're not gonna get it. FREE means FREE and it is totally at the discretion of the developers how they handle that.

All PAID versions get the latest updates when every beta release hits.

Two choices.....Either you be patient or get your short arms out of your long pockets !!!

Well, I'm not gonna get what?

I don't even know what your post is trying to say?

I've seen that message or something similar in posts here where people are running the free version of DVDFab against a not-yet-supported title. The vast majority of us here are registered users and do not have the opportunity to get any of the error messages particular to the free version. My guess is that the message is trying to tell you that you must wait for a newer version of the free software that has support for that title (or convert to the paid version).

This is a place where you would typically see a big splash screen saying "Sorry, you'll have to wait.... OR buy now to get what you really want".
