I have a suggestion that may help. I have had some issue with some blu ray rips in various players. I have found that if I have some kind of issue I just run the rip in Fab.
If Fab has an issue opening it then ya something wrong. If not just have Fab make another copy of it from the rip. Ya since you have the whole disk back up no compression is needed it should only take 30min to an hour. I know it sounds weird since it pretty much what you did the first time except from rip and not the original. It has worked for me on all of those. I hope this helps.
