    CUDA Problem in 7.0.4.0

I installed the new release version 7.0.4.0 and then tried to do a Main Movie copy of "No Country for Old Men" to an iso. The disc was recognized and scanned, but when I started the copy it would get to .41% and then hang with no error out. Changed the settings to software instead of CUDA and the copy will run, although much slower than usual. Been using the previous version for several months with absolutely no problems. I'm running Windows 64, Core i7 920, 6gb ram and two gtx 275 video cards.

    Logs are attached.

I have the dvdfab key from my previous version that is good through Feb. 2011 on my desktop. Do I need to do something specific with it after installing an update?

what was the previous version? if the Previous version was DVDFab6 then you would have to register DVDFab7 with your registration key to activate it. If it was DVDFab5 then you would have to go to the DVDFab website support and request a DVDFab6/7 key to be sent via email

What I was asking is do you have DVDFab Passkey 7 (this is name of the program) installed and running on a background. However, since you do not even recognize the name, you don't have it.

Yep, you're right, hadn't heard of Passkey before I posted my reply. Went to the home page and read up on that. If I have a key for the BluRay to BluRay DVDFab I wouldn't need Passkey, would I? My original key was from DvdFab6, so I'll try registering it for 7 and see if that helps.

It should help. I asked because there were reports of conflict between DVDFab and Passkey, and I wanted to eliminate that instance.
Important!!! In your first post you mentioned that you're running 64 bit OS. I suppose it's Windows 7. If this is correct, it's very important that you install DVDFab "as Administrator" and register it "as Administrator"
Yep, your log shows that you have W7, and no, you don't need DVDFab Passkey 7.

Checked my key and it did already show up in version 7 under the bluray to bluray - so it wasn't that.

I also did install it as an administrator.

I'm copying the disc in question with version 6 right now, so once that finishes in a few minutes I'm going to try a different disc with 7 that I've done successfully before and see if that works.

I looked up thread again, and couldn't find - did you try enable/disable PathPlayer? You may want to do that.

Ok, tried another movie, Reservoir Dogs and it worked just fine with one caveat. Only one of my gpus was utilized for Cuda and it was my 2nd one at that - which is kinda odd, but it worked and was quite speedy in processing.

A little more info on the behavior with the original disc - No Country for Old Men. When I started the copy I would get two "CUDA GPU Acceleration for video encoding enabled" messages (I assume one for each of my two video cards) in the process monitor. On my gpu monitor (EVGA Precision) I could see both cards would upclock and start being utilized for a couple of seconds until the percent of the movie processed got to .41% (snagged at the same place on multiple tries), then both cards would downclock and their utilization would go to zero. In the process monitor the mb/s meter would also go down to zero and then the program would just sit there until I cancelled it. I was able to copy the movie just fine with Version 6 and also with Version 7 if I disable CUDA encoding.

Also tried enabling/disabling Path Player - didn't make any difference.

Well, looks like with CUDA disabled it works. It happened to me too on Untraceable and few other movies. So, until CUDA option in DVDFab settled and stabilized, we just have to play with it.

By the way, one thing I learned, with CUDA process Power supply settings for card and power supply for the entire machine becoming sensitive issue. You might want to check on your power supplies and settings, make sure they are set right. You may research this too.
