    Is scanning vital?

I am doing a blu ray to blu ray Main Movie rip. Do I need need the scanning part or can I just click next to bypass scanning?

Yes you do. Scanning checks content, etc and is necessary.

Does scanning effect the overall quality of the video in the final bd iso/bd structure?

You may not even get the correct titles, etc if you do not let the scan finish, so yes, it does affect the quality.

Just leave it complete. There is no other option.

On the latest beta, whilst scanning if you click next and then start the program goes straight into copying *.m2ts and the scanning stops.

Please feel free to do whatever you wish but please do not come back here complaining about disks not copying correctly.

I have done a few iso's now without scanning and everything seems fine.

I"m not using the beta and if I start the disc while scanning is at 8% the analying phase starts at 8%. I guess I figured they were the same thing. I'll start waiting I guess if it could cause problems.

Yes that is what's happens on the non-beta version. The beta version bypasses scanning and analysing and goes straight to copying to hardrive.

I wonder if that's a problem many are having with the beta version. Not doing full analying before starting.

What does scanning and analysing actually do (facts not theories)?

I have done a few blu rays this way and they play perfectly.
