It starts to burn disc, does 0.01% and hangs, does nothing else. have to shut down bdr-205 pioneer drive to remove disc.
blu-ray drive is Pioneer bd-205 with firmware 1.08, external unit with usb.

    Intel Core i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz
    6 gig of ram
    Nvidia Geforce GTX 275
    Asus P6T deluxe motherboard
500 gig sata WD black drive

    windows message:

    Hi Axlone1,

It sounds like a power problem, can you try to move the drive into pc, or change a better power cable of external drive to see the result?

      This is the problem...

Pioneer bd-205 with firmware 1.08, external unit with usb.

I have 4 Pioneer drives that will not work when connected as a USB external but all of them work fine when connected as internal drives.

Other brands work well as USB externals just not the Pioneers.

        Pioneer bd-205 external USB

        Thanks for the info.
I do not have space in computer case for drive, so I will just open the side of case and connect that way, rest pioneer drive on box. I will let you know if it works.

          connected pioneer bdr-205 internally

          Hi,

Have connected the pioneer drive internally, and tried burning the iso image again..
          Failed:

You are going to try "Blu-ray to Blu-ray" option
          Burn DVD image ... started
          Task_2failed! Error=122
          Process failed!

          Any ideas?

It only writes label on disc and fails at 0.01%, another coaster

I have burned this media (Ridata BD-R 4x) with this drive using cyberlink producer software with no problem.

                Until now.
Regardless of past performance your error means your drive does not like the media you are using.

Your choice... try a different media or not.

I guess you might be right.
I will buy another brand and try it.
                  Thank you

                    Okay,
I bought and tried Verbatim BD-R,
                    It also failed.

You are going to try "Blu-ray to Blu-ray" option.
                    Burn DVD image
                    Task_2 failed! Error=122
                    Process failed!

This time it went to 0.04% instead of 0.01%

I guess I cannot use the blu-ray option on my system...shame

Trying to connect the dots here....
You said you have used the pioneer bdr-205 with Ridata BD-R 4x previously and had no problem.

Was this with software other than Fab?
Was this in a different rig from the one described below?
                          How was the pioneer connected?

                          windows 7 professional 64 bit
                          Intel Core i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz

                          Asus P6T deluxe motherboard
500 gig sata WD black drive

okay, the pioneer was connected with the external USB drive.
on the same rig. Software was cyberlink powerproducer 8.
created family HD video and burned it with Ridata BD-R 4x hub printable.
Disc turned out great, plays on my laptop blu-ray, my main rig above and on my samsung 1500 connected to my HD tv.
Also was able to burn the iso file from avatar created with DVDfab to verbatim bd disc, with pioneer connected internally using windows iso burning software and not DVDfab. the disc only plays on computer blu-ray drives and not on my samsung 1500.
                            Thank you.
