Batman Begins - won't stop scanning

Attempting to read in Batman Begins. When DVDFab sees the disk it pops up the "scanning" window, which for this disk, just scans and scans and scans.

I let it run for a good 15-20 minutes, then had to terminate the process with Task Manager (the window does not respond to the "Cancel" button) - dvdfab_internal.log is the only one that got contents:

    DVDFab 7.0.7.0 (2010/06/21 13:16:27)

The disk appears to be clean and free of surface defects, finger prints, etc.

    Other disks do properly read.

The disc could be defective. It does not matter at all that it is brand new and looks clean. Even if it plays, there's no guarantee that it will rip. Someone that knows what they're doing a little better will have to hop in here but your log doesn't seem to be complete, as far as I can see anyways.

I've backed this up and watched it successfully as well.

yep i backed this 1 up too. i did it back when 6.2.2.0 was out. (or something like that 6.1.8.0?) but it worked fine and no compression needed

Most of my movies scan within 5 minutes but the movie "Leon the Professional" takes 38 minutes to scan but records perfect. Every disc is different. I would just be patient and don't stop the scan and see where it goes.

I let it scan all morning. It never stops.

But it sounds like the problem is this particular disk if other were successful.

              thanks for the info, Larry

                Dark Knight would fail

I had a similar issue with The Dark Knight. I tried to extract the main movie only and it failed twice.

I then did a full extraction and that succeeded. From there I was able to extract the main movie and compress to a BD25.
                You guys are great!
