    and 7.0.8.2 3:10 to Yuma

I have tied to process 3.10 to Yuma 3 times, from full rip.iso down to bd9. Each
time I end up w/ over 10 gig movie. Hmmm, won't fit on a DVD +R DL DISK.
Any help w/ what has gone wrong?

Stu, did you checked box for "Remove HD Audio"? It seems HD audio adding up some weight to your ripped file.

      1. no, i didn't because it was "greyed out". I suppose I could have un-checked the lcpm in the sound block, and just left the AC3.

      2. but either way shouldn't DVDFab have made the movie fit onto a bd9? If i choose to keep hd audio it just compresses it more.

I have done some movies like this and the play fine, I just select slow process, fine detail, and the disks have always turned out ok.

Let me start from your question 2. Just FYI, HD audio usually weight about 5 gig in average, leaving less than 4 gig for your movie. It's a pretty deep compression. My question would be what is so attractive for you in HD audio to sacrifice picture quality that much? Is your equipment even can process HD Audio without downconverting? Anyway, it's completely your choice...

Your question 1. Main audio track you have is LPCM (Lossless PCM) - a lossless audio format. It's NOT an HD audio and it's not compressible by DVDFab, that's why "Remove" option is "greyed out". Not every piece of equipment can handle LPCM and it's even "heavier" than HD. LPCM audio streams are usually duplicated by simpler format, AC3 in your case, so that track you should chose.

hmmm, did not know that dvdfab can't compress lpcm. thank you for this knowledge. I can use this info going forward.

I have it running now, w/ lpcm unchecked, and in about an hour, I will have the results

but the original question remains: why did it give me a 10 gig disk? not once, but three times, w/ two versions. It sould have only been 8 gig.

          thanks Stu.

Because it can't calculate compression of LPCM correctly. I guess, it calculate as compressed, but compression failed and DVDFab muxing LPCM stream as it is - uncompressed. That's where 2 extra gigs comes from. To verify this theory, please load your compressed content ( the one 10 gig) into MediaInfo or BDInfo (if you don't have these programs, download and install them, they are little free utilities), and we'll see what audio stream in your compressed content we have. I bet it still LPCM.

you are correct on all accounts. large movies are lpcm. the new one finished at 8.3 gig, when I unchecked lpcm. Wow, learned something on this one.

many thanks, and keep up the good work. Stu
