first time posting and thanx in advance for the help. first thing.encoding times were great -even with compresion about 1 to 2 hours now all of a sudden we are taking 7 to 12 hours please advise me of what could be wrong. my specs are amd phenom ll x 4 925 8 gigs ddr 2 9600gt-512mb xfx 750a hybrid sli borard wich has 8200 on board graphics and i have hybrid sli enabled-always have thanx for any help

First of all try to reset DMA. For that, go to Common Settings (green circle in top right corner of DVDFab window) ->General Settings ->Reset DMA button on right side of window.

mine says rental also but i bought mine used through a movie store here they rent them then sell them after a couple months from $4 up to $15 so is that considered bought or rented? as sure beats paying $20 to $30 when it first comes out I just bought 2012 today from them as they had it for $12

And I think technically you can rip a rented disc, just after you return you must delete it.

I can confirm that video chains and large grocery chains that rent movies sell their extra copies after they die down in popularity around here.

Other Information:

Depending on the nature of the problem, it can help to know:
If this happens with all discs or just one
Your operating system/CPU/memory configuration
If you are using external hard drives or optical drives
If you have made any recent changes to your OS or system hardware
If you have other DVD or BD software installed, particularly if recently added.

sorry guys but there is no error codes the movies always encode but take 10 to 15 hours and yes dma is enabled. and am using cuda here are all logs -hope this helps. DVDFab 7.0.8.5 (2010/08/11 16:21:55)

Well try setting all A/V Codec settings to Software and try again.

I can confirm that using CUDA from my 8500 GT slows down the re-encode process with my Core2Quad CPU. On slow/high quality I get 1.7Mb on software and .70Mb with CUDA. I think your GPU has to be on par with or be better than your CPU for it to speed up re-encoding.

yes that did the trick encoded iron man and it only took 2 hours and 10 min awsome .thanks guys- you would think a 9600gt would do the trick but maybe not huh?

I think it depends on how many cores your CPU has. It helped speed up the process when I was using a Core2Duo but slowed it down when moving up to a Core2Quad
