    long encoding times

I am having the same problem with long encoding times like 8-10 hours with the newest trial version. I wanted to try it before I Bought it. The movie I am trying to backup is "Death at a funeral" going for blu-ray to DVD5.
Not sure why it is taking soooooo long?

If I select Blu ray - blu ray BD50, it gets done in less than 30 minutes.
But if I select BD-5, it shows to take upto +10 hours with this newest version.

bball freak, trying to compress a bluray down to bd5 is gonna take a very long time, much of it has to do with your PC performance (cores, ram etc)

also the fact you're trying to compress ~20GB down to <5gb.

Unlike dvd with the mpeg2 codec, Bluray uses highly complex codec with high bitrate. Over time, better algorythm process will come along making times go down...but until then, you have to accept the long times. Or buy a faster PC.

You can save time by using 720p instead of 1080p...if you're willing to sacrifice.

Also, it is recommended that you copy your movie to the hard drive first (BD50).

Then use that file to compress. It will be faster as well as save wear and tear on your drive.
