You know, we do have french subforum here: http://forum.dvdfab.com/forumdisplay.php?f=16
you may find it more helpful and convenient

Opinion of majority DVDFab users is that ImgBurn is the best burning engine to work with DVDFab, as well as stand along application. You can find more info and tutorial here:http://forum.dvdfab.com/showthread.php?t=12

This option applies on preview only. It's really a matter of individual preference and your machine environment. I would recommend to play with this setting and see which one works better for you. Set it for internal and try; compare it to ffdshow. I personally have it set for internal DVDFab codecs.

As IPopov said, external codecs can only be used for preview.

When encoding, Fab's INTERNAL codecs only are used.

With one exception. In "Blu-ray to X" options, DVDFab giving an option of use CoreAVC - third party codec, a really good one (you have to purchase it separately though)
