Another subtitle question

I backed up Shutter Island and noticed that during a scene where they drive by a sign in English that French subtitles popped up, no words were spoken. What would have caused this? I backed up the Main Movie only and had all the subtitles languages checked.

I've seen this before on a lot of Disney/Pixar movies. (DVD's) Even on the original disc. A little annoying and seems to be related to the way the disc is authored.

I found if you go into the menu before the movie starts and specifically select No subtitles it usually goes away. Not sure if you kept the menu for your shutter island, but you could try just toggling the subs with the players remote if you didn't.
