media problems

    media problems

    I have just recently downloaded a trial version of dvdfab v8.0.0.5. I have tried to burn a movie only on verbatim bd-r lth 2x and verbatim 6x and also ridata bd-r 4x. Out of 34 discs I made one successfull burn. I also had success with verbatim bd-re 2x and memorex bd-re 2x. Anyone have any suggestions on why all the failures. Verbatim is going to replace them all but I need to try and figure out whty the failure. I ge errorr-122 which looks like media error. Could this be true? Thanks

                First: Install ImgBurn as your burn engine it is (FREE) and you will find it here along with a tutorial on how to set it up download Mirror 6 - Provided by ImgBurn which is the newest version.

                Second: Install the latest service packs from Microsoft, as you should be running SP2 for Vista Home Premium.

                      Your very welcome, and remember to install that Service Pack 2 from Microsoft, it will probably take awhile for that (over and Hour) as you system is almost 1-1/2 years behind in updates

                        also when setting write speed for ridata bd-r 4x it show it supports 2x,4x,8x,10x in imagburn , what do i set it for?

                          Rule of thumb is usually 1/2 the rated speed of your media, so if using 4x set at 2x but, you are saying 2x,4x,8x,10x I would pick 4x
                          The Verbatim 2x I would burn at 2x

                          The wonderful thing about ImgBurn is that, after you are done setting up all your AWS write speeds for your media, when you have to buy more and you buy the same brand, ImgBurn will always choose the speed you set so you never have to keep changing the speeds of different media and also DVD media.
