    Question about folders after copying..

After a movie is copied to my HDD, you have to manuever thru a bunch of folders to get to the movie. Can I just copy/rename the movie in the stream folder to my movie folder and delete all the original folders without affecting the playback of the movie?

Also, after copying the main movie to the HDD as BD50, how do I compress with DVDFab to something much more manageable (BD9) after the original copy is complete? I wish I could leave it in the BD50, but space will fill quickly.

Technically, you can take out the main movie m2ts file and play it or whatever, but you don't want to. You want to keep the original BD structure, otherwise you will have issues with playback. And the fact some blu rays are seamless branching, meaning there's a million small m2ts files instead of one big one, and they're in no specific order. If you want, DVDFab now has the option in the Blu-ray Ripper module called m2ts passthrough which will create one m2ts out of the BD. Maybe that's what you want. In regards to shrinking to a BD9, just select the ripped folder of the blu ray on your hard drive in the Blu-ray Copy module and set the output to BD9. Set the target directory and go crazy. Hope this helps.

I left the folder intact, but when I add the folders to my windows media player library, it won't recogonize or play it.

If I copy it out of the numerous folders to a seperate folder, works fine.

What would be best solution when it comes time to move the videos to the NAS I am building?

I don't think Windows Media Player will even play blu rays buddy, yeah I guess it might play the single m2ts files but you don't want to do that for sure. If you plan on watching the BDs on a standalone BD player connected to your tv, your best option would be the DVDFab Blu-ray Copy option and shrink it down to either fit on a single layer BD, a dual layer DVD, or a single layer DVD then play these on it. If you plan on hooking up the NAS to whatever and watching them through your comp or something and you want to store all your blu rays on the NAS, you will probably want to compress them and place them in the MKV container(with the DVDFab blu-ray Ripper option) which will allow you to keep multiple audio streams, subtitles, and chapters. I'm not sure how big this NAS is going to be and how many BDs you plan on putting on it, so the level of compression that you want is going to be entirely up to you.

My NAS will start at 4gig and I currently have 300 BD and more DVD to copy to it. I am just wondering if I needed to maitain the integrity of the source folder on the NAS, or just copy the actual movie from the stream folder and store in my movie folder with all the other movies.

I did copy one movie out of the source folder to a seperate folder and it played fine thru windows media on my PS3, so guessing it should not be a problem.

I have discovered that my pc and the PS3 will not play the BD50 copies, but anything below that seems to work.

I would like to copy everything over as BD50 and then compress with the DVDFab to smaller size, but can't seem to get the program to open the source from my HDD to do this...any thoughts?

I'm guessing you mean 4 TB because 4 GB isn't all that much. Do NOT just copy the m2ts file from the stream folder over to it, as evidenced by what I said earlier. If you want to create one m2ts file, use DVDFabs Blu-ray Ripper module and use the m2ts passthrough option which will create one m2ts out of the whole BD. I would suggest you get a different player for playing blu rays also. I suggest MPC-Home Cinema for a free alternative, and ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre or CyberLink PowerDVD for a paid one. All you do is load the Blu-ray Copy module and point to the whole BD folder(NOT JUST THE M2TS) that you want to shrink, specify the target and the output and click go.

This m2ts thing is new to me.I do want to copy all my disks to my NAS at the best quality I can store based on 4TB. My PS3 will be my only way to plat this from my NAS box. I am guessing that the ND sound is a lose since you can't stream Tru HD sound from a NAS to the PS3, so I should just copy the 5.1 sound instead.

So what you suggest is use the BD Ripper software and select the PS3 option to make the copies? Will I still be able to play these movies on a PC in this format? I am able to stream the copies I make in BD copy main movie to the PS3 and they seem to play just fine over wireless. But I am open to experts advise here.

And sorry for posting multiple problems, just need to address these so I can get started on the copy process, have several hundred disks to copy.
