fast fwd chapter not working v.8.0.0.5

    hi:

been using v.8.0.0.5 since late August. Made about 4 good backups with it. I recently bgt CoreAVC 2 and installed it. Now DVDfab defaults using it. I have a 6 core processor, 8gb ram with nvidia 9500gt 1gb card.

I have tried backing up my A few Good Men blu ray. It backs up with no errors and everything seems normal. when the movie starts and its on the hollywood company logo (forget who) I try to fast forward thru the chapters. I try to go to chapter 1, 2 3 etc I only hear the audio of that new chapter. the video stays put on where its at. Surprisingly when you go to chapter 4 it works perfectly. you get the correct VIDEO and audio. then try to go to chapter 5,6,7,8 etc the video stays on chapter 4 but you hear the correct audio from say chapter 5, 6 etc. if you just play the movie with no fast forwarding it works!

I used the default decoder coreavc but have tried using everything set to SOFTWARE. The changes do not make a difference. VERY FRUSTRATING!
any suggestions welcomed and thank you in advance. Regards...

    forgot about the audio selections

I forgot to mention one possibly important detail. I am only backing up the main movie. In addition I am choosing the PCM English sound which is a larger file than the 5.1 English audio stream. By choosing this fab has to use compression to make the backup. I am trying it now with the latest beta 8011 and just using 5.1 sound (no compression). Regards...

I just tried using only the 5.1 audio stream with v 8.0.1.1 beta. It worked perfectly. I'll now try using the larger pcm audio stream again which will invoke compression. I'll use the 8.0.1.1 version and report back. I have a feeling it's not going to work!

I was correct. It does not work. Can't understand why it will not fast forward chapter by chapter when choosing the pcm audio stream as your audio stream to backup. It works with 5.1 sound. I guess no one else knows either? Regards...

read those threads. A lot of mumbo jumbo. My problem was similar but not what they are experiencing. However, I do have their problem with all my disks. FF does not work like the original disc. Its choppy and/or it freezes.
secondly my problem was when choosing the pcm audio I got no video on chapter FF, just the audio of that particular chapter. but if I copied the 5.1 sound track the copy came out perfectly.

In other words the chapter by chapter FF works but like all my backups the 1x,2x 3x FF is choppy. I use coreavc or software compression to bd25. I burn with imgburn. I use ritek or memorex bluray bdr's.

I really wish fab would fix this problem! Regards...

Navigation problems are an ongoing concern. The fast forward issue has been around since day one with no fix in sight. All the movies i've done play great, but the fast forward and chapter forward issues are hit and miss. Once this gets fixed, i will be a happy guy.

I have the same problems with the chapters, with the DVDFab 8.0.7.3 Latest Official Release
The movie freezing and audio not.
                encoding settings
                With slow speed high Quality

when i push on stop, en then push on play the screen is black and audio is running.
I think there are no point markers

I have had all of the above problems and more, w/ numerous versions.
They all went away, at once, and have never been back in at least 8 versions now.
I gave up trying to make the GPU do the processing. I set all of my codecs to software, knowing it'll now take 4+ hours to process a bluray. the results are SPLENDID.
They fast forward, pause, whatever, they burn perfectly, and play correctly, weither full movie or movie only. It doesn't bother my to tie up a computer for 4 hours, as I have one dedicated to processing movies and music. I finally feel I am getting my money from this program, after many, many coasters!!!!!!!! Thanks DVDFAB.......... my 2 cents Stu

I had 2 movies recode with cuda suport, with standard settings no (slow speed high quality) and no (enable full scan).
With the 2 movies i have no problem with the chapters.

I have Only problems with high quality settings (slow speed high quality / enable full scan)

I have the same experience when everything is set to software. I used to use an ATI Radeon HD 5850 so I can only use software when encoding. Takes about 5-6 hours to compress 50GB to 25GB. However the result is perfect, no problem at all with fast forward, skipping chapters, audio etc.
Bought an Geforce GTX460 TOP yesterday to take advantage of the CUDA tech. I have to say the speed boost is amazing, the compression time is slashed down to within 2 hours. However, after reading this thread i'm a bit concerned regarding fast forwarding and audio. I'm compressing "Iron Man 2" as we speak, I'm doing a Full Disc compression, keeping the original audio. Will let you guys know if there's any problem with fast forwarding and audio after I burn it to a disc and play it on a stand alone blu-ray player. fingers crossed.

Took advantage of the CUDA technology and it worked out nicely. Compressed "God Father I, II and III", no error at all in terms of fast forwarding, skipping chapters and sound. I have the CUDA turned on, "lightening encoding" turned off (i'm not gonna go there). Also I enabled Full Scan, and turned on slow speed for better quality.

Iron Man 2 was a bummer but i think it's due to the movie itself not the software. I have been seeing thread that a lot of people are having trouble with it. After it's compressed, it just stalls at the language selection screen.
