I apologize if this question has been addressed before. I searched the forum and scanned through some of the earlier threads without finding it so I decided to ask it myself.
I play my backups using a Samsung BD-P2550 through a Yamaha receiver which has decoding for DTS-MA and Dolby TrueHD built in. It displays the format being decoded on the front panel while the movie is playing. The original discs are mostly either DTS-MA or Dolby TrueHD, but all of the backups appear to be PCM. I do not compress my backups or select "remove HD audio". Is DVDFab simply converting these proprietary formats to PCM without compression, or is it not yet possible for us to have lossless audio on our BD backups?
