It doesn't..... are you copying to hard drive with compression? What are you doing...... you need to explain a little better what the process is that you are doing

I am copying to hard drive with compression no iso it says 84%
Then 8 hours is correct as you did not say what you have for a computer. Save the Blu-ray as either Full Disc with no compression or save as Main Movie with no compression to computer. Once you have it on computer then use DVDFab to compress that and will be a lot faster to do that way and not burn out the Blu-ray drive

I jumped the gun copying uncompressed to HD went very quickly
but going from HD to BD 25 83% compression was still very slow
7 -8 hrs I am using Gateway GT 5228
