Blu-Ray to DVD 9 not playable

    Hi all

Tried ripping two Blu-Rays, main movie only, to DVD9. The only way I can play these DVDs is if I go and select the movie stream manually and only using PC, no way with Blu-Ray or DVD players (tried both) hooked to TV.

I've tried doing it directly from the Blu-ray to the DVD and then by creating the full copy of the Blu-ray onto my system and then creating the main movie only DVD from the copy on my system. Both ways succeeded with no errors but still can't play the DVDs on anything.

What am I doing wrong or is this actually the way it is supposed to be? The movies were Robin Hood and Furry Vengeance.

    Thanks in advance

I hate to ask the obvious, but are you you playing the bkups (BD9) in a Blu-ray player?
A standard dvd player will not play a BD9, etc.

Fab, at this time, is not capable of converting BD to standard dvd.
However, stay tuned because this feature is in development.

I did say this in my original post:
no way with Blu-Ray or DVD players (tried both) hooked to TV.

That being said, I retried the 3 DVDs I burned, again, in the Blu-ray player and it turns out that two of them WILL work if I boot the player up with one of them in the drive. Then it shows up as ACVHD or something like that. The third one still isn't working for some reason.

I guess I thought burning it on to a DL DVD would make it play in a normal DVD player because of this portion of the product description:

Copy Blu-ray to blank discs or your PC hard drive, compress them to fit on BD-25 media or even DVD9 or DVD5 discs, all in high definition!

Live and learn Thanks for the reply and clarification and I look forward to the new feature since only one of the 4 players in my home is Blu-ray...

Yup, you sure did and somehow I ran right over it and didn't see it.
        Sorry about that.

Good news that at least 2 of the 3 will play ok...you gotta wonder what's up with the 3rd one though.
Hopefully a failure that won't be repeated.

No firm date yet, but this feature should be available soon.
