    Problem with back up of Deja Vu

    Hi, I'm wondering if someone can help me with this problem. I made a clone iso of the movie Deja Vu to HD. No compression. I then compressed the full disc to iso on HD. After the compression I wrote data to 25Gb BD-R disc. I had no issues during any copy, compression and write do to disc.

    When I watched the disc the were 3 or 4 places during the movie that jittered. I looked at the compressed iso and sure enough it had jitters also.

    I then went back to the original clone iso file and played it back and guess what no jitter. So I've made a watchable coaster but would like to try again with the end result being a good copy.

    Anyone have any suggestions why this may have happened and how I might correct the problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi sandman49,

    Please try the following steps to see if the problem can be fixed:

    1. Update to the latest firmware of Blu-Ray writer;
    2. Slow down the burning speed;
    3. Try different brand media of good quality;
    4. Try different format media like BD-R/RE if your Blu-Ray writer supports;
    5. Download and install Imgburn at http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download , open "Common Settings/write", set the burning engine as Imgburn, then burn your iso file again to see the result.

    Best regards,

      Thanks Sunny. This is a strange setup I have. All brand new pc. When I copy the iso files I use the internal Lite-on CD/DVD reader/writer and blu-ray reader only combo drive. I have and LG external reader/writer that I burn disc's to.

      There is a firmware update for the combo drive but not the external writer. I have never done a firmware update and I am nervous about damaging the drive if I do not do it properly.

      The external writer is a 6x. I do use ImgBurn to create the compressed iso file. The blank disc's that I use are Memorex and the only other one I can find is Verbatim. I can get the Memorex in a 15 pack for $50 but the Verbatim only come in a 3 pack and are $30. I live in Canada and the only store that I have found that carries blank blu-ray disc's is Future Shop. So far unable to find RW disc's.

      The Memorex disc's are 4x. I have configured ImgBurn to auto detect the disc and have set the write speed to 4x to match the disc.

      At this point I don't know to proceed. Please advise.

      Thanks,
      Terry
