    BD9 Support

Hello. I am having trouble with BD9 backups. First, I have been successful in backing up all BDs so far with no compression (BD50). I typically backup the movie only to save HD space. I would like to backup the movie only, but compress to BD9 to reduce file size even further for certain BDs. I have tried selecting the BD9 option and the job runs successfully, however, no compression occurs. It is still the same file size as the movie only at BD50. In this example, I am backing up Toy Story 3. The movie only file size at BD50 is 27GB. The resulting file after changing the compression to BD9 is still 27GB.

    I am using version 8.0.5.0

    Thanks for your help!

I forgot to mention I am creating ISO files. Here are the logs from when I ran it last night.

On quick glance, it appears you are compressing to BD9 from the original disc.
Also, I see that you've successfully ripped this movie (& others) to a hdd in BD50.
Please use the hdd files as your Source when compressing, ie., never compress from the original in your BD drive.
(It'll take an inordinate amount of time and your BD drive will suffer unnecessary wear & tear).

Also, please try Img as opposed to VSO (if you haven't already).
There is an excellent video tutorial, etc. on how to set up Fab and Img

Thanks. I will try using the HD file as the source and report back.

Also, I do not burn to disk so I don't think your suggestion to use IMG applies to me, correct?

            Yes, it does.
Img is far superior to VSO and is capable of much more than burning.
It will output the hdd files to .ISO
