Blu ray to dvd

I have a quick question and hop that any of you could assist me.

If I burn a blu ray movie into a standard dvd(none blu ray) will the movie be in hi def or standard def?

Movie will be in standard def dvd format and playable in dvd player but only able to get Movie Only for now so better quality if you use DVD+R DL blank media
