    dvd drawer keeps opening

    hi all

I hope someone can help me with this problem. I tried to do a backup from a blue ray to dvd . Everything went well until I put in the blank DVD. And then it went in and come straight back out, with no error signs at all. I've done a DVD to DVD backup and that went fine. It's just it doesn't seem to expect my media for blue ray thank you for your help. 2011-02-19 08:11:11 ---- ******************** Log session stop 19-Feb 08:11:11.031 PID 2576********************

So you are converting a Blu-ray movie to DVD format using Blu-ray to DVD Converter? If that correct why you use a blank Blu-ray when you should be using a blank DVD?

Edit: I just seen that you mentioned you put a blank DVD in sorry

Have you tried to use ImgBurn as the burn engine instead of VSO?

      hi

Thank you agj for your quick reply. I only use imb burn . I've checked in img burn and the DVDs by use are in their . I only use verbatim dvd+r AZO. I have done a uninstall and reinstall of fab but still no luck. Thank you for your help.

Have you tried to use ImgBurn with out DVDFab to burn the folder to disc? Also an ImgBurn log would be helpful as you posted the VSO logs. Since you not use VSO and use ImgBurn would be good to have them.

Well I'm off to get some sleep before work and I'm sure someone else will be on soon to help out

          hi

I cannot post a img burn log, because it doesn't get to image burn , image burn does not open. All I get on the screen is pleased insert a compatible media, when I do this the DVD draw opens straight away again. If I press the eject button again the disk goes back in and then straight back out. The display still says please insert compatible media.

            hi

I've just tried another way. When it copies the blue ray to my hard drive, I can then go into DVD to DVD copy and do it from there, and image burn runs okay, and copies it fine. It will still not let me copy it in DVD to blue ray mode. I hope this makes sense to someone out there.

                hi

Thank you AGJ for your help.

I've also tried something else, about this problem. I connected a external DVD drive. When I'm in B\R to dvd copying mode, I put my B\R disc in my internal B\R player. And then change the external DVD drive to target, and that works fine. Image burn opens up as it should do and then burns it to my target DVD drive. It's still doesn't solve the problem of why it doesn't recognize my B\R player as the target to burn to. I should mention my B\R internal player is also a DVD burner. I don't think it's a problem with image burn, I also tried the burning suite that comes with dvd fab and IT still didn't work. I have also updated the drivers for my B\R drive The annoying thing is it did work at one time and now it doesn't hopefully someone might know some settings or something. Sorry for any spelling mistakes as I am dyslexic.

Once again thank you for your help and advice on this problem especially AGJ.

I always use 2 drives and it worked for that but you found that out already. I will give the one drive a try in a few to see if the error shows that for me as well. I only use my Blu-ray drive for ripping my Blu-rays and use my DVD drive for burning and ripping my DVDs. Saves ware&tare on the expensive Blu-ray drive.

Will post the results for just Blu-ray drive in about 4 hours as it takes about 2 to convert a Blu-ray to DVD on my computer aslo I'm using The Book of Eli as well for the Blu-ray

Well I just finished and it accepted the blank DVD but I am using the new Beta that was released. Maybe update to that and give another try.

                        hi

Thank you AGJ for all your help. I updated fab, but still no joy. I suppose it could be something to do with my DVD / B/R burner. It's still strange to me why it will let me do a DVD to DVD without any problems using the same burner. Anyone I've got a new LITEON DVD internal burner coming from ebay for £14, so when I put that in my computer I will be able to copy from B/R to the new burner with any luck. Once again thank you for your help and your time I appreciate it a lot. I can only wait and see what happens when I put in the new drive.

                          Still no good

I got the new DVD burner, put it in my computer, DVD fab recognizes it, and so does my BIOS. But this is the thing when I put in a blue ray disc to copy to my hard drive and automatically back to my new DVD burner the same problem, as in the draw still opens I put in a blank DVD and the draw goes in and comes straight back out saying please insert a compatible disc. So now I have 2 blue ray/DVD burners that doesn't seem to want to write from one to the other. Exactly the same problem as I had before but this time with a new DVD burner. Anyone got any ideas other than a gallon of petrol and a match!!!!!

                            BD to DVD

Today I just burned a BD movie to DVD, It took about an hour or so, but it worked. I have 2 blue ray 3-D drives and it worked flawles. This was after the new update so that may have been the reason it worked. I tried that a couple days ago and it did not work.

                            Just me input thanks.
