    9.0.4.2 Liberal Arts

Tried several times, with 2 different BD disks, with no success. I've just downloaded 9.0.4.5 and will try it, but not hopeful. The fps increases from 37 to about 42 for the first 60-90 seconds, but then starts decreasing and over about 10 minutes goes to zero (actually, it blanks out), and just spins. I cancel it and have tried a variety of other settings, but nothing seems to work.

Try disabling all GPU activity, I have a Radeon HD video card too and DXVA never did work well. Just set everything to software and give it a go.

Well I had to try one, Hobbit BD to DVD9. It started like a house on fire then slowed until thought it would do the same as yours. But it settled down at 75-77 fps and finished. Does yours go all the way down to zero or are you canceling the operation?

            Down to 'blank'

Each time I've tried it, it follows the same pattern I described in my first message... It starts fast, 60fps or so, climbs up to 70, 80 or so, then it begins a slow descent, all the way down to zero, except that the fps number actually goes away, so that area becomes blank. The timer still ticks off, but nothing else happens.. the percentage stays at 0% (or, or rare attempts, climbs to 1%), but then after letting it sit for 90 minutes or so, I'll cancel it.

I use the same drive, same computer, same everything, and have a very high success rate with any/all BD discs, but not this one. And this is the 2nd copy of the movie I've tried, too. So it's not just a bad disc. (I supposed it could be a "bad batch" and I just got two from the same batch, but what are the odds of that?)

Can you try just ripping it to the HDD as an iso or folder to see.

                same result

If I specify it write to an .ISO, it results in the exact same behavior.

                  I give up...

I'll guess I'll try to find this movie on DVD (not BD), and rip that.
