    Error Burning

Last week I had no problems, everything burned just fine. Now nothing will burn. I have a pack of 100 blank disks and burned about 6 last week.
I was running version 7 of DVDFab, then ran the update, so I'm now using 8. It is not the free version, I have paid for it. I uninstalled version 7.
Now I'm getting an error message using the exact same disks. Anyone know what's going on? Thank you in advance!!!!

    The burn log is screwy.

Obviously, you didn't insert a cd, nor a SL dvd blank.

Dump VSO, and download, install and set up Img.
Infinitely more reliable, much more configurable and outstanding support...plus it's free

    Click on the link
Setting Up ImgBurn and DVDFab to work together
    in my sig below.

Also, not to beat you up and I know you've been using the RITEK-S04-42 media...probably Memorex brand, but please ddo yourself a favor and don't buy 'em again.

The only DL we recommend are Verbatim +R DL...
    MKM 001...2.4-4X
    or
    MKM 003...8-10X.
Also please be certain that the spindle wrapper identifies made in Singapore (MIS) as the manufacturer's locale.

The made in India (MII) are an ok 2nd choice if the MIS are unavailable
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

      Hi Eekster
If I also may add to Mainemans excellent advice your drive is in PIO mode, Open Fab Click the Green top right > General > make sure Check for DMA Automatically is Checked and also Click the Reset DMA to the right click OK and restart Fab.

        Thank you for the replies!!
I will be at the store this afternoon buying the Verbatim blank DVD's!

Also, I apologize I am not a technical person at all, so when you tell me to dump the VSO, does that mean to uninstall DVDFab? Thank you in advance for your patience with me!!

Also, nothing happens when I hit the green arrow at the top right of the screen.

No apologies please. We all started at the beginning and there aren't any of us who don't continue to learn...hopefully anyway...

          No don't uninstall anything.
Simply follow the instructions and video tutorial in the link posted in my sig re: Img.

In Fab, Common Settings, simply select Img as your default burn engine.
The tutorial will provide an excellent guide.

Don't forget to do as CBR929 suggested and enable DMA.

Let us know how you get on

When you click the check mark, you should see a dropdown menu.

Very good move you will not be sorry, you will be burning with quality disc and your backups will last a lot longer.

No, he means dump the VSO burn engine bundled with Fab and install ImgBurn as your burn engine you will find it here http://forum.dvdfab.com/showthread.php?t=33

Also, nothing happens when I hit the green arrow at the top right of the screen.
That is strange you can not click on it and a new screen pops up then click general so you can change settings within Fab

Restart DVDFab with no disc inserted, then you should be able to click on the green Check to access settings.
