    Having Problems

I'm not as angry as some... I've used DVDFab since it was 5, no problems...

Now, a problem. And coasters. Product is NOT copying onto DVD+R disks. Did so without a hitch for years. It copies SOMETHING onto the disks, making them useable for anything else.

I can use DVD+RW disks okay.

I have attached my error logs as recommended in the thread.

Looking forward to your replies and solutions!

    Peace,

    Sharif

I thought I attached the log per instructions. I will copy and paste below...

WHAT HAPPENS: I put in movie to be copied (to my harddrive). Copies okay. I then put in a new DVD to be copied onto. When I put a new DVD in (DVD+R), it thinks about it for awhile, then gives me the message: "Failed to burn DVD. Do you want to burn again?"

I then put in a DVD-RW and it copies fine. I've used different brands of DVD+R, same result.

Here is the log from today:

Well, I updated, but got the same results (one more dead DVD...).

The burn log is quite long... jammed my computer when I tried to copy it here. I'm only going to send the last couple of days by cut and paste... you should not need the ones going back to 2008!

I was going to try to use the "attachment" button to attach the file, but it is 1,371 KB, beyond upload limits... last time I tried this, it did not work.

use imgburn as the burn engine, lower the burn speed to 4x and get better blank media like verbatim. also the matshita drive you have is no good as well

--I don't know what a "burn engine" is.

-- I don't know how to raise or lower a burn speed.

-- The process fails, regardless of the type of media I use.

-- The drive (built into my computer) worked fine with DVDFab for years.

None of this sounds like a solution... I'm not going to buy a new computer, or even a new drive, to try to get one program to run.

DVDFab was an all-in-one, easy to use program... was it "improved" to uselessness? What is the problem?

Poor quality media burned at max speed in a poor quality drive.

As stated above get better media and burn at 4x.
You might also look into the purchase of an external USB burner.

Wow... did you even read my post?

                    To repeat:

--I don't know what "imgburn" is.

--I don't know what a "burn engine" is.

-- The drive (built into my computer) worked fine with DVDFab for years.

I will try to see what happens when I lower the burn speed to 4X... just as soon as you tell me how to do that.

I will get "imgburn" (assuming its something that's free), as soon as you tell me what it is and where I get it.

I will get the media you recommend... having used the present brand for YEARS with no problem.

So... if you can respond to my questions, I would really appreciate it.

                    S.

YES I read your post and find it hard to believe that a person that claims to have used the software for years has made no effort to learn how to use it.

Why should anyone try to help you if you are going to get sarcastic and argue with the efforts to help you?

Do some simple reading and research.

I wasn't arguing, just looking for some answers to my questions.

DVDFab used to be error-free software; I didn't HAVE to do any research.

As you recommend, I'll look elsewhere for answers.

                          Hi, sharifdvdfab

                          1. I tryed to burn a output movie backuped DVDFab 8062 on DVD+R disk, it was no problems.
                          2. Burn speed is 4x, imgburn(free software) is version 2.5.2.0.
                          Please try again.

                          Thanks.

How do I set burn speed? Is that something that will be obvious from the imgburn software?

You might also look into the purchase of an external USB burner.

You will find ImgBurn here along with a tutorial on setting it up with Fab http://forum.dvdfab.com/showthread.php?t=33 do not forget to set up the AWS in ImgBurn to burn at 1/2 the rated speed of your media.

Your drive says DMA is not available on this bus type, but you can try to reset DMA, to do this Open Fab Click the Green top right > General > make sure Check for DMA Automatically is Checked and also Click the Reset DMA to the right click OK and restart Fab.

With Windows 7 Ensure that you have installed Fab as "Administrator" and are running Fab as "Administrator", not just using an account that you THINK has Administrator rights.
Set up ImgBurn, reset DMA and give a burn another try, if all else fails you can try the other suggestions.
