Repeated burn failures, no DL discs?

Hi all, I've enjoyed DvdFab for several years now, but for the last month or so have been having an awful time getting any burns to complete. I am repeatedly getting error codes 115 & 116. I can't get anything to write to DL discs, and am only successful with DVD5's about 30% of the time. I'm not the most tech savvy, and I'm not confident about where to look for the cause or how to resolve?

Here's my log info - are there any settings that I need should look at? On 12/6 I updated my version of dvd fab (looks like there have been new builds since...) but I was having the same issues prior to that (I was hoping the latest update would resolve my issues. I haven't made any major system changes, and am using an external pioneer drive. My Dvd Copy default is set to Dvd5. My Dvd Write settings are DVD5 4300, DVD9 8000, Write Type DVD-r Media is SAO.

Also, it looks like updated builds are frequently released - DVDfab doesn't alert me for the update - is there anywhere within DvdFab to check for updates?

I really appreciate any suggestions you may have. In the meantime, I will update to the most current version. Thanks in advance for your time!

Usually there are couple of reasons for those errors to show up.
One of them - crappy media, and your DVD DL media is part of "crappy media" category.
However, considering fact that you have no luck with DVD SL also, I would guess you experiencing another reason for those errors - your burner is about to die. I might be wrong... and you can test with better media (preferably Verbs) and see if that will correct your situation. If not - you are facing bigger ticket - new burner. Get yourself a Christmas present... or look for Santa

      Hi t.ro
Along with IPopov50's advice you may also install ImgBurn it is "FREE" and you will find it here along with a tutorial on setting it up with Fab if you want to try and salvage those garbage disc's that you have.

Do not forget to set up the AWS in ImgBurn and also lower your burn speed to 1/2 the rated speed of your disc's, which in this case would be 4x

Even if it's a little thing, do something for those who have need of help, something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it.

thanks so much for the super speedy feedback! my burner is only a few months old, so i'm hopeful that's not the culprit. i'll definitely give the media upgrade and imgburn tips a try - thanks for the link too!!
