DVD to harddisk with best quality

Hello,

I'm new to DVDFab and I have a question...

I want to rip/copy a movie from a DVD5. I want to put the copy on a extern harddisk to connect to my Media Player and watch the ripped movie on my TV.

What's the best way to rip without loosing the original DVD quality?

I think I need to use DVD Copy Customize because I want to remove some annoying commercials. But what I don't understand is that when I want to rip this DVD5 it doesn't fit on a DVD5 with 100% quality. So it's not a 1:1 copy I guess?

What if I want to rip a DVD9 that can't fit on a DVD9 I must copy it with less quality because there is no other option. But I need it for my harddisk which has a lot of GB's.

Or is it the best way to do it with DVD Ripper to VOB?

Sorry for my bad english. The only thing I want is rip DVD's without loosing quality to my harddisk. Size doesn't matter.

DVD9 = Full DVD (no compression)
DVD5 = Single Layer DVD. It depends on movie if compression is needed or not.

Rip to hard disk as DVD9 and "Main movie only", to get rid of previews and all the nonsense, this way your sure to get no compression. Rip to a the folder of your choice on your hard drive.

a DVD9 should always rip and fit to a DVD9. Again, to get rid of previews and all the nonsense, select "main movie only".

This presupposes that the Media Player will play DVD structured ISO's or folders. Some DO, some DON'T...

If the latter case, you need to see what your Media Player WILL play.
