I can't get copies to play

I used to use shrink and decyrpter and then i found out they don't work for some of the new movies I just bought. So I read about dvdfab and wanted to try and it seemed to work easier with img then shirnk and decrypter, however they will not play in any of my dvd player or my ps3 this only happen when I use dvdfab and its everytime. They play on in my computer. Can someone please help me. My comp is an acer and runs windows 7 I think i have attached the info need log and stuff. I'm super new and really need some help thanks

Hi Chrismhudson, sorry no one has replied to your thread. I have a few questions first then we'll see what we can do to help you out.

Have you updated to the latest version of Fab since you started this thread?
Have you updated your drives firmware?
To be sure I found the same drive, is this in a laptop?

          Hi Chris.

What W&B means by the drive firmware is basically a small program on the actual drive that makes it work and there can be updated firmware to resolve issues that the manafacturer did not know about (or was too lazy to worry about)

Laptops are not real great to use for DVD copying and especially for DVD to Mobile because both these process create a heavy workload on either the DVD drive or the processor creating heating problems because the laptops cannot dissipate the heat load well because of the design. Overheating can cuse unreliabilty and even may cause the lappy to shut down.

My honest suggestion to anyone with a laptop is to invest in an external usb DVD or Blu-Ray burner so that the heat load is less.

Ok you can go and there is a newer firmware update for your drive. It's the one labeled SCO1, d/l it and run the installer.
Problem may not be solved because it's a lappy and those drives are notorious for being problematic. I always suggest users use an external type due to the high heat environment with laptops.
Also you need to reduce the write speed to 4x
            I 11:43:21 Destination Media Type: DVD+R (Disc ID: MCC-004-00) (Speeds: 3x, 4x, 6x, 8x)
I 11:43:21 Write Speed: MAX < it's set to max

Watch Troy512's video on how to do that with ImgBurn (link in my sig to his post) Watch it in HD so you can easily see the type in the video that helps explain what to do as you go along.

Try those things and I'll look a little more to see if anything else catches my eye.

I would also open ImgBurn, click the Mode tab and select write. DE-select the verify option, the burn can be verified by watching the disc and would save some wear and tear on your drive. I attached a pic below.

I fix the burning speed like the video said. I tried to d/l the driver and it said it was not compatible. Any idea why my computer would just start copy dvd that can only be played on computers? When I used to use shrink and decryter it worked everytime. I really appreciate your help

Only thing I can think of as to the firmware update is your drive is dying but not sure if that would cause it not to accept a update unless the lappy is a new one with a newer firmware already. it shows to be a Samsung TS-L633B on firmware HQ. when was the laptop purchased?

Ok do this open ImgBurn and select Mode/write. then in the dropdown as in the pic I posted right click on the drive, Scroll all the way down to 'check for firmware update. A box should open and tell you what firmware is installed. post back and let us know.

Actually scratch that as its already in the burn log. BIG DUH on my part. still thinking

If you set the write speed correctly then give it a whirl, post back and let us know what happens.
