    Will not start

I have just put a new 1090T CPU in my system. All was fine till now. I hit the icon and get the hour glass for a second then nothing. DVDFAB 6.2.2.0 works DVDFAB 7.5.0.8 works. 8.0.6.6 will not? Have tried all disabled A and B drives, disabled all firewalls and av running. Have uninstalled and cleaned system and resistry. Reinstalled and no go. So uninstalled all again, I have all betas and releases from early DVDFAB 5. the last runable issue is 8.0.2.2 all after will not run.

System is AMD 1090T 6 core
    4 g. ram
    2 - 2T sata drives in raid 1 config.
    4830 video (overdriven)
Windows XP with sp3 all up to date.

Never had a problem till i upgraded from a AMD 9850 to the 1090T.

I think after 8.0.2.2 is where p-coffin stopped being used?

When you say you always log on as admin., do you mean you enter your name (or nom-de-plume) in the box (with or without a password), or do you mean you actually use the word Administrator?

If you don't use the word Administrator, then you log on with only partial Admin. priviledges, and when we suggest that you reload the program and key 'as administrator', by right-clicking on the set up program, select run as..., then click on Administrator - that's the way it should be done.

If that doesn't work, then please D/L and install a program called Imgburn (a far better DVD burner than the VSO one supplied as default), and in the top program window of Imgburn, click on the 'Tools' tab, and go to the 'Filter Drive Load Order', and click that.

Please either copy & paste that info (or get a screen shot of it), and include it in your next post.

Yes sign on as Administrator with password, always. And load that way.

Use ImgBurn and remove the 2 filters below as they cause problems like this with DVDFab and many other DVD programs available. Just remember the program that installed these filters may not work any more. Also when you start DVDFab right click the desktop icon and select run as Administrator as you do not have full admin rights when logged on like you are just like DC already said
          Code:
          Filter Name: incdrm
          File Name: C:\WINDOWS\system32\Drivers\incdrm.sys
          File Version: 4, 3, 23, 2 [4.3.23.2]

ok, but if I delete pfc.sys filter won't I loose my Nvidia Purevideo Decoder in media center and windows media player? In-cd no problem will remove filters and uninstall do not hardly ever use anymore.

You right do not remove that one as I made mistake and thought it was this filter

What did you use to uninstall those drivers? (Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs option?)

And did you do a check of the registry after said un-installation?

You'll need to run a program called CCleaner (another freebie on the web) to clean your registry after any uninstall to get things back to as normal as possible...

Please try that, reboot, and then try running Fab...

                  DC

P.S. I'd also have a close look at that Redbook driver that uses InCDrm and InCDPass as Upper filter drivers to function...

And HAPPY NEW YEAR to you, too!!!

AGJ also made reference to this filter... and it was decided that it shouldn't be removed, though you were both talking about the pfc filter, which should be left alone... but the Arcsoft AFC filter should also be removed, as it has proven in the past to be an offender to Fab running.... removing it will kill your ability to run any ARC software, but it should free Fab to work as intended...

                      @ DarthCopier

The OP (mem) does not have the Arcsoft AFC filter in their Filter Driver Load Order, AGJ posted that filter on his own by mistake

That may very well be the case, yet AGJ posted the AFC filter specs as it would appear as if it was actually there... I hope he didn't pull that info out of thin air...

If he did, you are absolutely right...

If you are still having problems I would do as DC suggested and install CCleaner found here http://www.piriform.com/, then you need to do a clean uninstall of DVDFab 8 because sometimes program files become corrupt. You can uninstall DVDFab with the uninstall program. Open My Computer and go to c:\Program Files (OR) wherever you installed DVDFab, delete the "DVDFab" folder. Open "c:\WINDOWS \ PREFETCH" clean all the relevant ".pf " files with DVDFab.
After that run the cleaner and registry cleaner within CCleaner, and make sure to check the box under "Advanced" Old Prefetch data on the cleaner page.

I would also suggest when it asks to back up the registry, that you do so, in the event that you need to change it back.

Then restart computer and check if there are some related files left, if it does, please delete them.

Then re-download DVD Fab here http://forum.dvdfab.com/showthread.php?t=10742
instead of clicking run click save then open the folder and right click and install the program as administrator.

Make sure to also disable any programs like Media Center that have an auto play feature when a disc is inserted into your drive, an also try to run Fab with no disc in the drive and then insert disc to see if Fab will then start.

                          Hope this helps
