    Not opening DVDs

Ok, I upgraded from 8.0.6.1 to 8.0.6.7. Before upgrading I ripped 3 DVDs (Star Wars prequel trilogy) to MKV which went without any hitches. After upgrading I tried to rip the original trilogy and the discs are failing to open, just getting the "Opening Disc" progress bar and nothing else. I tried the prequel discs and they do the same thing in 8.0.6.7.

These are Region 2 (UK) DVDs.

I've tried with pathplayer both enabled and disabled.

I've now downgraded back to 8.0.6.1 and it seems to be working properly!

    Anyone else?

    Pete

Strange thing is that I opened Passkey and it took 82 seconds to open the disk and I then opened Fab and it in turn to 71 seconds to open and 18 minutes to rip to a hard drive.

Fab without Passkey would not open the disk..
*Other software* did not have a problem.

I am having the same problem. I opened a Region 1 disc just prior to update, updated to 8.0.6.7 and now I can't open the same disc. I can watch the DVD via windows media player w/o any problems. Can someone give me a link to download the prior release so I can roll back?

Thanks for the link! I had to roll back to 8.0.6.0 to get back to full functionality? Pretty odd. Hopefully the next update will fix the issue.

That is why most of us oldtimers never delete a version installer and save them just in case.

You might want to form the habit of saving the installer to a flash drive or ?

I'm one of the ones who save all installers and 203 files comes out to 2.11GB size so they do not take up much room especially since the ones I have are roughly 6 years worth of installers

dvd would not copy with 8.0.6.7

I had trouble copying "The Last Song" with v. 8.0.6.7. Out of five DVD's I tried copying with this version this was the only one that would not copy. I tried rolling back to 8.0.6.6, would not copy. After using a friend's computer with 8.3.0.2 and copied with no problems, I rolled back to that version on my laptop and it worked with no problems. Attached are the log files.

Can't get 8.0.8.7 to copy Inception but 7.09 seems to be doing it.

Installed 8.0.6.7 yesterday. Ripped Inception without a problem (Region 1). However when I tried to rip CSI- Crime Scene Investigation S8-D1 I could get no further than the Opening Disc screen. Tried ripping in three different CD/DVD burners and got exactly the same result. Let one of them run for over 5 min with no success. So then I went back to good old DVD Decrypter and that worked perfectly!! Seems that DVDFab has become so sophisticated that it can no longer read/rip the plain old Macrovision encryptation. Hope this gets fixed in the next version.
