    The Trouble With "SALT"

    Hey guys have not had trouble for a nice long time, well maybe a little bit, but figured out work arounds for my backups. I am afraid I have to ask for a little help with backing up Salt.

    I have a region 1 with the three titles on it. The main title is number 14. I have tried full disk to iso, I have tried movie only to iso, I have had path player on and off, it just seems to be a stubborn little disc here.

    It starts the copy process at a slower rate than normal but not bad, and then it gives me;
    "Error while reading!"
    Retry, ABORT, Ignore, or Ignore All

    None of those options help. I get this same error on three totally different PC's. Here is the log files from the latest Fail:

    18:43:44: Analyzing of DVD started
    18:43:44: Analyzing of DVD completed successfully
    18:43:44: Copy process started
    18:51:59: Task_1 failed! Error=102()

    The disk appears to be in very good shape, and it plays just fine on laptop and DVD player.

    SOLVED!!!

    It appears that it was a bad disc after all. My pricey Blu-ray player seemed to be able to play this faulty disc, but I went ahead and tried it on three other players and the disc would freeze at the layer change. The disc looks visually perfect, no scratches or anything and since it.

    Wanted to post it in case somebody else runs into a similar error.

      Ozzie, Ozzie, Ozzie.... what did you do now
      Of course it's a bad disc. Those manufacturers, dirty rats, trying to save some money on media and process....
      Oh well, they are always right, isn't
