Question on Format

Good morning guys!

I would like to see if any of you can clarify my question below.

I am currently usiing DVDFab 8.0.6.8 to back up my movies. I have realized that the formatt in which DVDfab is doing the movie is in MPEG2. Is this supposed to be the actual format or should I change this? Also is that the format for the audio or the video?
I am referring to the area where you select the title that you want to back up.

[Complication]

MPEG2 is the video for virtually all DVDs. If you want something else, say for some other device, then you would want to use DVD Ripper.
