DVDFab DVD Copy does not change the video at all so what you need to do is make sure you are selecting the correct movie as it sounds like the DVD you are using has 2 movies in different aspect ratio on it

            Hi, david_ripp

            1. If you use dvd clone, the output file is same as origin dvd.
            2. If you use dvd fulldisc dvd9 or dvd5, dvdfab does not change the video like AGJ said.
            3. If you still have problem, please post internal log, and tell us more info about operation steps.

            Thanks.

Actually, you're not creating a clone, but rather a Full Disc bkup (from the clone rip).
                  Please post relevant burn log.
(We'll need to see that portion of the log where the actual burn occurred).

Is there a reason that you're using 2 separate processes to accomplish this?
Are you only using one ODD (dvd drive)?
If yes, you can do this with one process although you will have to swap the discs (2 steps).

As you select clone, please also select your burner as the Target.
(If you're using 2 ODD's, then insert your blank disc in the burner. If not you'll have to swap the discs,
but Fab will prompt you and burn without having to close and re-open the software).

Not to beat a dead horse, but DVD Copy does not have the capability to change the aspect ratio. You would need to use DVD Ripper.

Your BD player is somehow selecting either the wrong format or selecting the wrong title for playback, based on what you've posted
Do these originals have both Full (4:3) and Wide Screen (16:9 or 2.35:1) titles?
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

You know how to whistle, don't you, Steve? You just put your lips together and... blow. | Lauren Bacall | "To Have and Have Not" (1944).

Is there a reason that you're using 2 separate processes to accomplish this?

"Yes in the past dvdfab crashes ...when i have clone dvd or blurays to dvd, ie dvdfab will succedfull write "1" dvd when you select burn again ...it crashes.. 3.5-4 min into the burn .so to minimize my efforts ( 3.5h for blurays)i save them to working drive."

Are you only using one ODD (dvd drive)? yes the drive is a external bluray / dvd combo...

"If yes, you can do this with one process although you will have to swap the discs (2 steps).I have, what happens is get black better box bar top and bottom ... then I get secoundary set of grey bars smaller version grey letterbox under that."

"note when I use imgburn on same player i have no issues with letter box... like above?"

As you select clone, please also select your burner as the Target.

"I have....try that again.... no differeancet i have been doing is creating iso file for future burning till i figure this out?"

(If you're using 2 ODD's, then insert your blank disc in the burner. If not you'll have to swap the discs,

the blueray play is set to the followin settings

                    tv type 4:3 x or 16:9

screen format : orginal x or fixasec ratio

                    dvd
aspec ratio : pan and scan x or letterbox

                    Im confused why this happening?

Sorry to be so long getting back to you...

                        Please try the following:
Select Img as Fab's default burn engine and utilize Fab for the entire process as I described previously.

Also please try to use your samsung TS-L632D for your burner as this should burn dvds without issue (as long as you're not using DVD -R DL which, is a bad choice regardless).
VSO is misbehaving to say the least. It is problematic for many users and appears so for you.

I'm still not sure of the following...
Do these original dvds have multiple formats on the same disc?

Have you utilized any other software?
VSO-DivXtoDVD comes to mind as this will convert aspect ratios.
As I said, Fab DVD Copy will not.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

                          1. I tried to rip a DVD with operation steps you did, and no problem.(steps: clone-->fulldisc--burn)
                          2. Please change another DVD to retry.

                          Thanks.
