Does Decrypter rencode, or just requant to fit DVD9

I've been using DVD Fab HD Decrypter to backup my DVDs to individual folders on my HDD. I just noticed that it was using a lot of CPU for some titles, and I realized it is shrinking my DVDs that are larger than 8GB. I was curious what technique it is using. Is it decompressing fully and then recompressing, or is it doing a compression-domain requantization?

    Thanks.

I do not know about the compression as only the developers can answer that.

On the size issue though, you can go to "Settings"->"DVD/Blu-Ray"->"Write" and change the default size to the maximum of 8968 Mb. The default is 8100 Mb and is why your disks over 8Gb are being compressed.

    Hope this helps.
