Can't copy: Tuomas Veturi - Suuri Löytöretki

    Hi,

It seems I'm unable to make a backup of the DVD "Tuomas Veturi - Suuri Löytöretki" (= "Thomas & Friends - The Great Discovery", nordic version).

I'm using DVDFab v8.0.7.3 free version on WinXP.

With PathPlayer enabled, it claims the size of the disk is only 11MB, which is apparently the FS-Film intro movie (that's the only thing Main Movie finds).

With PathPlayer disabled, it claims the size of the disk is a whopping 26.034GB (yielding a Quality of 30% with DVD9 setting). That's the same size as given by explorer.

I've attached the related parts of the internal log file. None of the other log files contained anything on this volume. The zip containing the info files is almost 800KB, exceeding the forum limit of 500MB. I'll send it separately via DVDFab.

If there's anything else you'd need to know, just ask. I'm happy to provide you with all you need if I managed to miss something here.

    Thanks,
    Lehter

Assuming that the Icelandic version is the same as the Swedish version - The Swedish version is released by SF (Svensk Filmindustri). Is you copy also that?

I know that SF uses the "oversized" copy protection. Had the same issue in this thread when it only showed up as 11MB.

Fengtao fixed it, just not sure if it's also released in the free version or not.

I've the finnish version, actually. But yes, I believe it's the very same DVD. The cover is identical apart from the language used. This version also has audio tracks for swedish, danish and norwegian, in addition to finnish.

Did you manage to take a backup of your Thomas & vännerna DVD with the registered version of DVDFab, in addition to the Wallander DVD?

      Thanks,

        Hi,

Encouraged by the activity of this forum and of the developers - and by the fact that the product has already proved to be a magnificent piece of software - I went on and registered my copy.

However, the registered version has the same problem as the trial version.

Here's the buy link AGJ requested:
        Tuomas: http://cdon.fi/elokuvat/tuomas_vetur...6retki-7487472

I also included The info files.

Would there be anything else you might need from me to resolve this issue?

        thanks,
        Lehter

P.S. It seems that the info files are getting larger than the zip file size limit on this forum. Perhaps you could consider upping the limit to say 1MB?

I also encountered another DVD by SF films with the same problem: "Lauri - Varikko-ooppera". I put this into this same thread as I heavily suspect the problems are due to the same new DVD protection scheme.

          Here's the buy link:
          Lauri: http://cdon.fi/elokuvat/lauri_kilpa-...ppera-10784205

I also included some log files here, but I'll send the info files via DVDFab as my upload limit prevents from attaching them here.

Thanks for posting them and now just need to wait for one of the DVDFab developers to reply and see what is needed

Couldn't find it in a shop around me. So no.

Don't know whether this has any relevance, but I'll throw it in here in case it has.

The beta version disables pathplayer when analyzing these disks:

                  Hi,

It seems that the latest beta (8.0.7.6) is able to copy the disks without issues.

                  Huge thanks!
