    out of memory error

i upgraded to v8.0.8.5 from 8.0.6.8 and now i get an out of memory error when the copy starts to burn the disc. the software successfully copies the dvd content to the temp directory, but when it goes to burn the dvd, the DVDfab process starts consuming large amounts of memory and once it exhausts what's available on system, i get the out of memory error. i'm running windows 7 professional 32 bit.

    Hi schleprock
How much free disc space do you have on your system?
Have you tried cleaning out your temp folders and recycle bin lately.
What burn engine are you using?
Please post your logs the default location is:
    For Win7 C:\Users\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log
    or Vista C:\Users\User Name\Documents\DVDFab\Log
    or for XP C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log
Please use attachment button and attach your most recent, Internal and Burn log(s) and post right here.

i have about 3.5GBytes free on the system disk (NOTE: the DVDfab temp file is not on the system disk, it points to another disk that has about 250 GBytes free)
my temp folders are relatively clean and the recycle bin is clean

in v8.0.6.8 dvdfab never used more than a few megabytes of memory. this new version tries to grab in excess of 1 GByte of memory.

        Hi schleprock

Make sure that the new version did not change any settings to where it writes the temp folder.
Does this happen with every movie or just this one?
Pulled from logs 0m 25.93s: volume label DVD_VIDEO
Also what was the movie you were trying to copy?
Maybe Fab is having troubles with the Path player setting, try disabling it and try again.

Since this is happening when burning you could try using ImgBurn as your burn engine, it is "free" and you will find it here along with a tutorial on setting it up with Fab http://forum.dvdfab.com/showthread.php?t=33 remember to set up the AWS in ImgBurn and set your burn speed to 1/2 the rated speed of your media.

Your drive also has a firmware up date you will find it here http://www.firmwarehq.com/download_1...T_103.zip.html
NOTE: If you do not know how to flash your drive do not do it, it will render your drive useless.

I am having the same problem, getting an Out of Memory error when burning a disc from a copy on a hard drive.

I think it's the newer versions of DVDFab that are causing it. However, for me, it only happens when the disc content doesn't need to be compressed. So, it checks the size (task 1/2) and immediately jumps to the burn (2/2) waits about 60s, then fails.

There's 240GB on my C: drive which is where my temp folders are, but it shouldn't even need it.

I can burn the exact same disc using an older version on a different computer without a problem.

          Thanks,
          Peter

Try using the "write data" mode for previously ripped/saved content on your hdd. Unless you want to change something with the content Fab doesn't need to re-process the data.

              8085 out of memory rrror

There for a while I would get out of memory error and I tryed what everyone suggeasted and never worked! I was playing with settings for a few days and came up with and don't know how, but I reset my buffer settings and changed from about 385 down to 151, Out of memory error went away and never had a problem with that Again! Now I my be way off base on what your talking about, but even if this has nothing to do with your problem, what I can get is something I can write down in my book of fixes, i"ve been making since V5 of DVDFAB!, but I can at least add another fix to my journal for DVDFAB Problems! Thanks you guys, looking foward for the fix, good luck!
