    problem reading disc size?

    I have a problem with some source discs (Examples: NO STRINGS ATTACHED, MORNING GLORY (2010), DINNER FOR SCHMUCKS) in that the initial read usual comes up with "QUALITY: 100% (5815 MB -> 5815 MB)" if selecting a DVD9. All the above dvds return "QUALITY: 17% (46.276 GB -> 8100MB)". This is clearly impossible, the source disc cant be 46 GB in size. And the one time I went head and tried to copy to a DVD9 disc it took about 2 hours and the quality was about 17%, completely unwatchable. Logs are attached.

    Everything from May 20 is included. Note: No Strings Attached and The Fighter were the failures, but Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows copied fine.

    Hi biefman

    It seems there may be a problem with the Pathplayer settings since you are receiving that abnormal file size.

    Open Fab Click the Green √ top right > Protection > Path Player click Always Enable Path Player click OK restart Fab.

    Also the disc you are using are considered "garbage" sorry, pulled from logs 2011-05-20 18:23:43 Info Poor quality disc detected or drive error.

    If burning to DL disc consider picking up some Verbatim DL disc that have the AZO dye on the package, and if doing SL burns Taiyo Yuden is the best followed by Verbatim with the AZO dye on the package.

    You should also slow down your burn speed to 1/2 the rated speed of your disc, in this case would be 4X.

    Try these suggestions and post back if you are still having problems.

      Great, thanks, everything seems to work perfectly. The Fighter and No Strings Attached copied without a hitch...Although, and I think you're going to think I'm crazy, but I swear I had a problem where someone told me a problem I had (same problem? I don't know it was a while back) was the path player and that's why I disabled it.

      Are there instances where path player should be disabled?

          Glad it is working for you now.
          You are correct that on older movies you would need to disable Pathplayer, but needed to set it back to Always Enabled when done.

          I also agree with AGJ the the Auto disable of Pathplayer needs to be "fine tuned", I have seen logs to where it disables itself on a movie where it should not have.
