    Green Hornet split burning-not working

I wonder if anybody has been able to burn the single disc of green hornet that has no
extras , only previews into 2 single layer disc?

I used 8.0.8.5 to successfully create a copy in my HD.
I can not use this copy to spilt the main movie into two DVD5 discs, nor can I use the original disc to do the same.Custom only, as the spilt function does not show anything when selected.
When I customize split the movie only , full disc or whatever, the Sony logo plays then it cycles back to the logo, even though FAB has burned my custom split
The full disc copy reads at at 5.68gb
Even VLC Media player does not show the menu of the full HD copy, I have to jump to subsequent titles to get to the full movie.
The ONLY way I can copy Hornet disc is to do a dual layer burn, but this only plays properly ,if at all, on some high and dvd units.
So that's why I am looking for anyone who has done a two disc split and how it was
    obtained.
    Any help will be appreciated.

DVDBOB could be refering to the DVD that comes in the Blu-ray 3D+Blu-ray+DVD Combo pack as that DVD only has previews and movie along with menu to select Languages and Scene selections
