Full Disk Copy refuses to write.

Full Disk copy will not write going from a 9 to a 5 disk. Refuses to write to the DV5 disk.
It did write the new video files to the correct temp folder, and when using that as the source I can see that it is now sized of a DV5 disk. But it still refuses to write to one.
I've been using DVDFab since 2007. System is Windows 7 Ultimate on a dual core Intel and Nvidia GPU.

Do you sure that the size of writable Media DVD5 is 4300MB?

The files are too big to fit on a single layer disk. 4699767963 is Max. Needs a bit more compression.

Check what size you have the DVD5 set for in "Settings"

              Additional info

I'm using the recommended, and selectable size of "4482 (DVD+R)". I used to use 4483 before the 4482 became a selectable size. I've never had any size issues before. I use the same Sony DVD+Rs I've been using since 2007 when I started using DVDFab to backup my DVDs.
Also, have successfully used this version of DVDFab using same settings and doing "Main Movie" and "Customize" and it worked fine on reducing from 9 to 5. Well,.. almost fine with "Customize" I selected 3 of the 9 video files to copy and changed their order, but what was copied to disk was the three in their original numbered order instead of what I changed it to.

I recommend 4472, because 4482 will write to the outer edge of the disk where errors are most likely to occur. I only recommend 4472 if you are using a quality blank media like Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. 4300 for anything bought at Wal-Mart.

Perhaps i've been unclear. The write is not failing to complete. The write operation will not start. DVDFab is giving me a "Failed to burn DVD. Do you want to burn again?" popup when it completes the conversion/copy to hard drive and ejects the original DVD, goes into the write operation, I load the blank DVD5, as soon as it detects the DVD5 I get the popup error.
The writing to disk never starts. If I then change to "Main Movie", "Customize" or "Custom Split" the operation will write onto that same disk.
It seems to me that it doesn't like what it detects the disk to be. Accidentaly programmed not to like Sony DVD5+R? Or perhaps it is looking for something that this media doesn't have? I've been using the same media for years with DVDFab, so I'm quite at a loss for why this new QT version software is having issues with it.

That's exactly what will happen when the file is too big to fit a DVD-5. The burn process won't even start.

You haven't been unclear, and we DO understand what the problem is.

Please try to understand our response. Your writes are failing because the size of the files you are getting is exceeding the limit for DVD+R discs (please note above BOLD hilites from your own logs).

Error 105 means File(s) Too Big.

The log even gives you suitable media types for your 4.38 Gb write.

Whatever worked in the past doesn't seem to anymore...

The change of max. file from your 4482 to 4300 will produce no quality change in playback that you can detect with your eyes or ears, and it'll stop all those write failure messages (if you continue with the Sony +R discs).

                      Worth a try??

I'd like to bet and it does happen you wont have that problem if you let dvdfab put it together and burn as an already converted in xxxxxxxxxxi have to do it quite often now that we are on latest version of dvdfab, honestly gents if dvd fab wont go with it xxxxxxxxx will.

                          Same problem / no burn

I had the same problem... athlon 2 4x core, biostar mb, 2 lg 22x r-rw on sata,
4.7 -r media, set to 4472. Worked killer up to 8085, installed 98QT & it quit burning disks. Checked all the setting.. matched, Had to uninstall the 98qt & 85 versions & reinstalled 8085 again and all is back to normal.

Please explain why the issue only occurs with the "Full Disc" copy function? I can use "Customize" and select every file on the disk and it will reduce to my Sony+R setting is still 4482. I can use anything but "Full Disc" and leave the setting 4482.
While I'll give it a try at a reduced setting, I am saying that I do not find this normal operation of DVDFab, and I first purchased DVDFab at version 6.
I have been using DVDFab since before there was a selectable setting of 4482, and I always had the custom set value at 4483 with using Sony+R disks and never had a problem until now.
Are you now stating that this is to be the normal and correct operation of DVDFab?

4482MB comes too close to maxing out the capacity of a 4.7GB blank, 4700000000/1048576=4482.269287. No compression program is perfect; the output may be a little under or over the target value of 4482. If it’s under you might be ok but if it comes out over you’re SOL.
I set the target to 4472 to allow a bit of overage and have never had a problem. I assure you’ll never detect a Ø.23% difference in compression.
