    "Media inserted is single layer...."

I have just recentlly updated to the new version of fab (6.2.0.5) and when I went to make a copy of my Star Trek movie, after the initial copy process when it asks for blank media, i put in the blank dvd+r that i have been using, it gives me a message that says "Media inserted in drive E: is single layer, Please insert a double layer media to start the write process." I havent changed any settings or anything. this is my first post and I went the Help us Help you forum and i think I got the log for it.

That depends on how long you paid to have the program. when you buy you have the option for 1 year subscription, 2 year, 3 year, 4 year and lifetime

Yes. When your subscription expires, the software reverts to the freeware app which does not compress. Hence, your inability to compress to a dvd5.
I think DVD to DVD runs about $10 for the renewal, but as AGJ said, there are a number of options. You can opt for the "lifetime" renewal and avoid this in the future.

If you bought prior to May '08, lifetime subscriptions were "grandfathered" in.

I thought the default at the time of install was DVD5 and not DVD9? If so how did that change?

In common settings, DVD to DVD, the default output size is selectable.

On free version it Depends on disc If the movie is 9 it will be 9 if the disc is 5 it will be 5,
can not reduce 9 to 5
