DVD copy is not burning to disc. Please help.

    Hello.

I've been using DVDFab for a couple of years now without too much trouble and now I can't burn any ISO files to disc.

I usually get about 3/4 of the way through the burning process when I get the following message:

    Analyzing of DVD started: 06:25:22
Analyzing of DVD completed successfully: 06:25:23
    Copy process started: 06:25:23
    Copy process completed successfully: 06:51:16
    Burn DVD folder (C:\Users\MS User\Documents\DVDFab\Temp\MainMovie\DEVIL\) started: 06:51:16
    Task_2 failed! Error=122: 06:52:52
    Process failed!: 06:52:54

I've tried smaller ISO files and even tried ones I have already burnt and the same thing keeps happening at about the same stage of the process. I've now gone through about 10 blank DVDs and as far as I can tell all my software and drivers are up to date.

Here's the log from the last session:

      Very insightful GregiBoy.

I'm using the same discs that I have burnt hundreds of discs with and at the same write speed.

      Can someone useful please reply?

I agree with GregiBoy...also looks like your optical drive is in pio mode, try resetting it in Fab's common/general settings 2011-06-23 06:51:17 Info PIO Mode

I think W&B has the right answer for this problem.

And GregiBoy too, if you are gonna use crappy media you can't burn at the rated speed and expect good results every time.
How to post the internal log

It's either that or the burner is giving up the ghost and this DOES happen!!

                  Thank you all.

I tried to re-set DMA through DVD Fab but no joy.

I eventually found out I had to uninstall my driver so I could re-set DMA manually which I have done but still having problems.

I'm using TDK blanks and the first 40 discs have worked fine but now I keep getting write fails about 75% through the process.

Is there some way of testing my burner to see if it is a hardware problem?

                  Cheers.

Are you certain your burner is actually in UDMA mode?
                    Initially, I noted your post,
"I usually get about 3/4 of the way through the burning process "

                    Now you post,
"but now I keep getting write fails about 75% through the process".

This makes me skeptical as to your DMA mode

I also see that you reset DMA with Fab...no go.
Uninstalled your burner and let windoz reinstall, thereby correcting the DMA mode.

                    Could you verify this?
It is not sufficient to see DMA if avaible.

You can try a registry patch that was intended for XP, but it ok with Vista as well.

The links in my sig are acting up.

                    Try this link:

                    http://www.aumha.org/regfiles.php

                    and scroll down to
Restore missing cd drive > CDGONE

Again, don't worry that it says XP only; it is forward compatible.

Yes, you can test your drive.

You'll have to roll your sleeves up a bit, but at least you'll get answers.

I agree with others, TDK media is not the best choice for video archiving.

As AGJ suggested, go with Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim (AZO logo on the spindle)
