    6.2.0.5 fails to launch

I have used this product in its variuos releases for quite some time now. as well as other products no longer supported (shrink, dvd decryptor etc.)
however beginning around release 6 I have had problems with the product not launching after a succesful installation. Yes I have read the FAQs and any thread related to this problem and have tried all the suggestions - uninstall, cleanup the registry, download a fresh copy (from dvdfab website obviously) disable antivirus, also removed any other programs related to any dvd function, reinstall 20 gazzillion times!! and still no go.
Am I a regitered user? I sure would like to be, If I can get the latest version to launch for according dvdfab "NO Refunds" "download it and test it before you buy" and my understanding is that the actual program you will have is the trial one you downloaded and what you get when you purchase is the activation key correct me if I am wrong.
So the 64 million dollar question is:exactly what changes to the system has dvdfab made or what file is corrupted or not really getting removed during uninstall or replaced during install?

My system? windows 2000 pro service pack 4 Teac DVDrom, Sony burner

Hi kadett, I can attest to the fact that 6.2.0.5 works on Windows 2000. You are a paid registered user right? And what message do you get if any when Fab fails to launch?

I have also been having problems since the beginning of DVD Fab6, even the final versions of Fab5. The even more frustrating thing is there is no error message, it just disappears so identification of the issue is impossible. I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times and have copied in my registration code again many times, after receiving verification by email. I still have DVDFab5.2.3 that works OK, but nothing later than that works at all. Any help / advice welcomed. With Kadett's post, I now realise I'm perhaps not the only one.

I have an old Compaq Presario I had on mothballs, seeing no response to kadett’s post I hauled it out and updated Windows 2000 and installed Fab 6.2.0.5. It works fine and I did a movie on it just to be sure. I don’t have much of anything else on the computer so maybe there is a conflict somewhere? The only thing that comes to mind is an outdated video driver I had once that would just make the screen go black, no message no nothing. I went into control panel and changed the driver to standard VGA and that worked until I updated the driver to one that worked.

90312 thanks for doing that with that old presario that's pretty standup stuff.
to answer your question, I am trying to be a paid subscriber. but the darn download will not let me. here is what I have now done... I Formatted the drive installed a fresh copy of win2000, explorer6 and then BEFORE loading anything else NOT even my antyvirus I downloaded DVDFAB logged in as Administrator and installed the DVDFab into system succesfully, did a restart, tried to launch dvdfab and guess what? nothing again. no error message, no blank screen, just an hour glass for about 3 seconds some sporadic disk activity, and that is all does not even show up in task manager.

tried the display driver suggestion still no go. hey 90312 try uninstalling and then re-installing it to see if it goes into lala land like mine if you don't mind of course.

and look quite frankly I will be happy to pay for it now if someone from dvdfab will gurantee me that this problem will dissappear this is the kind of time one spends on pirated stuff.
thanks for viewing this guys if you have a similiar problem al least say "ME TOO"

Please explain this statement. If it means you are attempting to run a pirated copy of DVDFab I'm all done here.

I said it in my first post and on second post that I am trying to PAY for a license, however if you read the website it plainly tells you that you must download and try it first because there are no refunds.

So you are talking about the 30 day evaluation period then, your choice of words threw me.

I uninstalled/reinstalled and I even run my portable copy that I have installed on a thumb drive and it just works. I'm not sure where to go from here? This machine is an AMD X64 processor, 1GB of memory nothing special.

thanks 90312, so what is the difference between my download and yours?
are you downloading the evaluation version like me? without key yet or are you applying your registered keys to it?

Yes I have the key installed but there is no difference; the only thing the key does is preventing expiration. I download the same program that you do during the evaluation period. If you can’t make the free trial run on your computer I don’t recommend you spend any money on it cause the key won’t help.

I believe you may need IE7 or newer to run the newer versions of DVDFab, Can you try that and let us know?

Removal of new protections may not be available yet in the free version of DVDFab (HD Decrypter)

Good to know, Still worth a try because there are not many options left at this time.
Sometimes different machines need different touches to put it all together and work.

I have IE6 on the old machine and it works. Depending on how fengtao and company wrote this software Net Framework could be required, more and more software is using one version or another of it these days.
