    Freezing

I am having freezing and pixel issues on every copy when using 8QT. I went back to version 7 and am trying the version 8 right now. 7 works fine. I am new here and will look to see how I extract the log to post here.

        Logs

I think I messed up. I deleted some of the logs and only had a file for the internal one. Do you know how I get the other logs back? Here's the one log that I copied and pasted. It looks very small and incomplete.

are you using GPU acceleration of any sort for your compression?

Not sure what GPU is. Is there a way I can check?

              Burn - VSO Log

I retried Death Race 2 using the 8QT and here is the VSO log. I get no error messages and it burns successfully. Version 8.0.8.5 also seems to freeze on me but version 7 seems to be good. I've been using DVDfab for at least 3 years, bought a new computer 2 years ago with continue success. Hope this can be fixed.

                Hi bcm1
                A few suggestions:
                1) Switch to a better media Media ID: CMC MAG-M01-00 are considered to be garbage, try picking up some Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim (with the AZO Dye on the package).

2)Consider using ImgBurn as your burn engine it is "free" and and you will find it in the link in my signature on how to set it up with Fab.
                Hope this helps
                CBR929

EDIT:Your drive also has a firmware update, please visit your computer manufactures site for the update or you may get it here LG GH50N B103
NOTE: If you do not know how to flash your drive do not do it, it will render your drive useless

CBR, thanks for the advice and working through this with me.

I went ahead and updated the driver firmware, watched the IMG video and installed it. I did burn it with IMG and now I get pixels and then freezing. So I've used these garbage discs for the past 3 years and tried another box since I was thinking it maybe defective, but I can use DVD fab 7 and they are fine so I don't think it is the garbage disc.

                  Any other ideas?

CBR929 is one of our more knowledgeable people - I've done many posts myself, both here and on the 'old' forum, and am not as quick as you to dismiss his advice.

The immediate result is not always the most telling... the dye layer used by CMC Mag. is not one of the best, and I suggest you take a quick look at some of your earliest burns, and see how they stack up in terms of picture quality, freezing, pixellation, audio drops, etc., against your most recent burns.

You may not be happy with what you find...

                    DC

If bcm1 refuses to listen to advice given, they will find out a few months down the road that their backups no longer work, as I have found this out the hard way and only burn to Verbatim disc's now and when a disc gives me trouble I pop it in my computer get the MID an guess what, it was a CMC MAG-M01-00 GARBAGE

Not a problem, sunshine... ya know, I found out about Memorex the same way you did (the hard way).... now I only use TY for SL burns, and Verbatim for DL burns.

                        And nary a problem!!

So I have been happy with the burns from DVD Fab 7

CBR and DC - I am not trying to discount your suggestion but I have been happy with the burns that I have been getting using these garbage disc using DVD Fab 7. So if we upgrade to Fab 8, I should be able to get the same quality that I have been happy with in the past if the program were to work properly. Does that make sense?
