    Path not found error

If I select the autorun option when I put the disc in I get the path not found error and when I open dvdfab it just continually tries to open the source and I have to kill the process to get it to stop/close.

It's a newer laptop that dvdfab has worked on just last week. The only change that I know of is that Roxio Burn came pre-installed and a disc tried to use that app by default just once, since then I've uninstalled Roxio and re-installed dvdfab with no real luck.

    Thanks!

It looks like Roxio or other program still blocking DVDFab off the access to drive. Have you cleaned registry after Roxio uninstall? I would recommend to uninstall DVDFab, clean registry, download new DVDFab installer and re-install DVDFab again. I hope this will restore the access.

So I came close... but still no luck.
        • Uninstalled dvdfab and rebooted
Removed roxio from registry and rebooted
Installed newest production version of dvdfab and rebooted
With my disc in the drive I made sure the movie played as normal
Opened dvdfab and it recognized the disc and processed it as one would expect
...but then I closed dvdfab and opened again without any luck.

If I put the disc in and the auto run option comes up and I select dvdfab it tells me path not found, but if I select media player it works just fine.

If I have the disc in already and open dvdfab it just gets stuck on processing.

Any other thoughts out there? Appreciate the suggestions so far.

        Thanks again!

I have no idea what it means, but that's what came up. Is that right?

              Thanks again!

Ok, so I might not have let it load all the way when I copied it last time. Below is an updated copy. I was able to make an ISO image without any issues, but I still can't use DVDFab to read the disc.

                  Hi SilverJA
                  I would remove this filter.
Please Open ImgBurn > Tools > Filter Driver Load Order click on the filter in the screen then click Remove Selected Filter click OK restart your computer and try again.

Remember what ever software installed this filter may no longer work properly.
                  Hope this helps

Update to 8.1.1.2 first. Then turn off AutoPlay in Windows, this renders AutoRun in Fab moot (at least on my system), start DVDFab and then put the DVD in the drive. Having AutoPlay enabled in Windows is just not a good idea.

                      Roxio

Roxio leaves a lot of crap behind and to get it completely removed there is a free program I think it is Roxio Remover not sure of the name , I don't have it anymore but maybe some of the old old timers might have it or know the name here it is Roxio Zahttp://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtmlp

Well thanks for the help everyone. I couldn't name what specific step fixed it because when it finally did start working I hadn't made any changes.

To review what steps were taken:
                            • Uninstalled Roxio Burn
                            • Uninstalled DVDFab
                            • Manually cleaned up registry from both
                            • Ran RoxioZap
                            • Installed DVDFab as admin
                            • Uninstalled again
                            • Disabled UAC
                            • Installed DVDFab

Somewhere in the middle I also installed ImgBurn and removed one of the filters it detected. Even after all that it was acting exactly the same, then yesterday it started working and seems to continue detecting and reading the few discs I've thrown at it. I've turned UAC back on and it still seems to be ok for now.

                            Thanks again!
