DVDFab won't rip Fellowship of the Ring regular edition

I don't know if this the right place for this, but I'm having problems with FotR regular edition. DVDFab tells me that I need to buy or renew my license for the software or wait for a new version of the HD Decrypter. I'm using the HD Decrypter, and I thought that maybe a trial had run out, but I went ahead and start ripping other DVDs without any problems. I've even ripped the Extended version of the movie without issue. Is there a version of copy protection on the disc that DVDFab can't handle? Or is it something else?

Monty Python and the Holy Grail (Special Edition) gives me the same message.

For older discs, it is sometimes necessary to turn Pathplayer off.

Well, I think that PathPlayer is already disabled...I've never messed with it, and for the DVDs that it does successfully read it has a bunch of options greyed out and says "Pathplayer must be enabled". I'm only using the Main Movie option, which is probably why.

How would that affect this anyway? The DVD won't even get past the "Open DVD Source" part(I hope I wasn't misleading in my first post). No list of titles, no hitting next. It barely starts trying to read the DVD and it gives me that error.

actually you must have it set to enable when necessary and that is not recommended to use. The best settings to use is always enabled or disabled

ah ha. You were right the first time, GregiBoy. Once I turned it off, Fellowship worked perfectly(it was actually set to always enabled, but the navigation options were still greyed out). I haven't tried the Holy Grail, but I'm guessing it'll work too. Is it ok to leave it off permanently? I'm ripping these to my HDD so I can stream them to my TV. I'll never actually burn them to a DVD.

for older movies it is fine to leave it disabled but newer movies need it to be always enabled. I leave it always enabled and have not had any problems with older movies
