hanging on "open DVD source" after fresh win 7 install

I have been using DVDfab for the last year to copy my DVD collection to my hard drive with no problems. The PC is your standard HP Pavilion desktop dual core with Vista. The only add on is a Geforce video card. I just did a fresh install of Win7 on the computer and now no matter what I do, It just gets stuck on "open DVD source" and I eventualy have to reboot the Pc because it locks up. I downloaded Passkey which seems to work fine. I have been thru every setting. I even reloaded windows again and then downloaded DVDfab with same results. I have been thru the forums and have not found a solution. Please help someone!

    My two cents......

Just installed 8.1.2.0 and am experiencing the same issue...Open Source loop, need to force quit. Haven't had the problem so far with QT, but recall that other users had the issue in earlier QT versions. Been OK thru 8.1.1.9. 8.0.8.5 OK.

I just installed other software as a test. Works perfect. I prefer DVDfab though, so this stinks. It must be conflicting with a Win7 setting somewhere. I just finished a clean install last night and the only thing I did after it was done is install DVDfab. Annoying. I have spent hours researching this problem with no luck.

        Hi jes.jr,

The only add on is a Geforce video card.
Please check if there is a new driver for your video card to update, if not, please uninstall and reinstall your Video Card driver to see the result. Hope this helps.

        Sincerely,

I uninstalled the driver, rebooted and let Win 7 choose the driver. This led to a few Windows updates but the problem remains. Is there a video setting I should be looking at?

            Hi jes.jr
            What sunny was asking.
Do you have the latest drivers from NVidia installed?
If not please visit NVidia found here http://www.nvidia.com/content/global/global.php and install the latest drivers.

I downloaded drivers from Nvidia site as CBC929 suggested, did the "clean install" option on the install, Problem still persists. I have now gone back to the onboard graphics and it still remains!!!! I am tired of seeing "Open DVD source".. Ready to throw in towel soon. I has to be a Win7 thing as DVDfab worked flawless on this same PC when it had Vista for a year.

I'm having the same issue with my Vista machine...
I just updated to the latest release, (from the previous latest) and now all I get is the opening source screen (on top of DVDFab) and it hangs...

                Updated to the beta...same issue..

I have not made any changes to my PC at all.

Was working fine on the previous release...now it hangs and has to be shut down through task manager...

                Any ideas?

Could my problem have anything to do with HDCP compliance?

WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE this is EXACTLY what I have been having SINCE QT VERSION came out so it's just not me and I too am running Win 7. I tried to get this fixed a couple of months ago and everybody tried and after a while just quit trying and I went back to Pre QT. End of problem as long as they keep supporting the PRE QT...

Well the older versions work just fine...

So the issue is with the new release, and is also in the Beta...

Similar problem, but it is dics specific.

I just copied main movies of Cinderella and Ponyo without any problem.
But when I insert Nemo, the "open dvd source" window never goes away, even after the DVD spins down.

I also tried with the latest 8.1.1.22 beta, same thing.
