    Best Setting for HDTV

Can anyone recommend the best settings to use when ripping a DVD for viewing on an HDTV? I'm using v8.0.6.1. Thanks

Depends on what you're playing it back on and also whether you copied as DVD5 or DVD9.

Most of the newer player will transmit a DVD as a 'progressive scan', which means that each line is transmitted twice... therefore, a DVD9 copy will fare the best under those circunstances.... but DVD9 blanks are more expensive than DVD5 blanks... therefore, the best setting is the strength of your pocketbook...

    Please set accordingly.

Thanks - I should have said that I'm not burning t to DVD, it's for streaming via an external drive. There are loads of settings I could use but I don't know which would benefit me best.

Yeah, but what device are you actually using to play the file?

If the TV, you will need to research the specs before we can help.
